Good game, Vols. Butch has you going in the right direction. Looking forward to some great games in the future.
Very impressed with your young QB. He'll be a good one. Hope he can grow some eyebrows.

Thanks, semotruman. Good luck the rest of the year.
62 percent completion rate and ~280 yards for Dobbs. He don't need no stinking eyebrows but he does need the rest of the team to actually play!

Coaching is everything in college football and UT has a great one. You guys will be very, very good very, very soon.
I think so too MULive. And I'm quite impressed at the Mizzou's turn around this season. Your early schedule, intentional or not, was a brilliant way to build confidence in a new offense as well as your Defense and now both are shining. Pinkel and the rest of the staff have done a helluva job this year. You should be proud of this team.

Congrats, Mizzou. That was an assbeating.

I was very impressed with Mizzou, y'all played really good football. Congrats on today's massacre and good luck the rest of the season.

Thanks, Vols. Last year was a perfect storm of injuries. We're much healthier this year, even with the injury to Franklin. The defense has been a pleasant surprise. I hope we can keep it up.
And tbh, we're playing a big 12-style schedule, where you front load the non-con games then play a straight conference schedule with your bye weeks built in as late as you can get them. We're still transitioning our schedule - we had early games open, and had to fill those in with whoever we could. It worked in our favor this year.

Goulet I love bubbles!!! But on the topic of the game, sorry it wasn't a closer game but I did enjoy it personally being there. Y'all will be very good, very soon likely

Don't know why, but I don't see that game as an assbeating or a massacre. Mizzou was very opportunistic with some turnovers. If it wasn't for that, Dobbs was actually more effective than Mauk, not that Mauk had a bad game. His legs helped him a ton today.

Ha, yeah I've been a Trailer Park Boys advocate for a long time.
I really felt like this was a game the Vols could keep close and possibly win, but after the game went 17-0, I knew it was over. Kudos to Mizzou, that defense played fierce.
I say that with no disrespect to Mizzou, I knew y'all were good, just thought this was a better matchup for UT than other games on the schedule.

So TN got whooped by 28 and y'all are saying the future looks bright for TN? You Mizzou boys are either too nice or y'all are the biggest bullshiters ever!

Their true freshman QB played well in his first start. He'll be good, the rest of his offense just didn't step up and support him. And Butch Jones is making me a believer. So, there are bright spots. Oh, and our defense played lights-out.

Yes...sometimes we're too nice. But in this case, there are some bright spots.

Their players are really young and look really good. Not going to be as easy next year

We out rushed them 337-94 or something like that.

Our longest run was by Dobbs. We got nothing going in the run game early on and Mizzou sold out to force the pass and it worked. If not for some big drops and mental errors by our line might've been a different game. They absolutely did nothing to help our young QB when it was early enough to keep the game in check.
Mizzou showed up and played BIG TIME. 80 percent of our team didn't. Dobbs is going to be good though. Very good, imo.

Agreed. Knoxville needs to give Butch some time.

Butch is a good coach. He did well at Central Michigan and Cincinnati, and those aren't the easiest jobs in the world. He can turn Tennessee around too.

You're right but from the total meltdown on our fansite by many (thankfully not all fans and probably due to drunkenness and Riley Ferguson partisanship -- they're still sore Fergy didn't get the job) you'd think Dobbs sucked and Jones should be fired at once despite singing Jones' praises until this game. I'm hoping they're just too intoxicated to realize the kid accounted for 300 yards total and the biggest run by a UT QB since Tee Martin. He had an outstanding performance even though he made some errors. He's a fricking true freshman though and he got no help from most of the team and still had a showing on the road against a top team that indicates good times ahead.
What more did they expect him or Jones to do? When most of the team doesn't show up, injuries happen, the O-line gives up SIX false starts on critical drives, our defensive is simply outgunned and Mizzou is on fire that's not on Dobbs or even Jones.
SMDH.

Dobbs has an impressive arm, mistakes were made that should be expected from a true freshman, but I think this kid has a ton of upside.
