He is an exciting college player. I don't see a team using a first round pick on a guy like him. Hell, I could be wrong..but is a team gonna give 1st round money to a guy in hopes that he strips 3 balls a game?

Don't forget the rookie salary cap. Much less risk with 1st round draftees. I think he would fit perfectly in the defenses of the Ravens, Patriots or Steelers. The kid plays with Heart. His size is an asset, quick to the ball,so-so tackler, good hitter, B+ when rushing on the outside, great instincts and is f*cking Houdini on getting the ball out

That's the thing with Lattimore, it's not like he does one thing better than most RB's, he does nearly everything better than most. He has hands like a WR, great size, strong, rarely gets tackled for a loss, and his only real knock is the fact that he doesn't have that impressive breakaway speed but neither does Trent. Lattimore is a workhorse that can hurt you out of the backfield.

He is a workhorse, but he still hasn't absolutely WOWed people against the better teams he's played (SEC). He's been very steady, but steady doesn't get you to be the #2 overall pick as a RB in the draft. Check out his average per rush against SEC teams...

Barret Jones will be on the bubble all everything Stanford guard DeCastro went late to the Steelers

Tackles a higher premium than interior linemen

While I don't think Jones is as good of a guard prospect as DDC, if he succeeds at Center this year at Bama, he'll have the versatility card to play. DeCastro is a Guard only, the talk of him being moved out to RT made me cringe. He's too good of a guard to be an ok RT.

BJ will be able to show he can play Center, Guard, and if the right team selects him, Right Tackle. It hinges on his play this year, if he has an average year with some bad snaps, he'll be in Mike Johnson territory.

isn't quite THAT good to begin with.

Yes, #2 overall good, that still doesn't mean he isn't a very good RB which I said he is. Some of you are really confusing the fact very good won't equate to the #2 overall pick in the draft as a RB. You have to be pretty groundbreaking.

I want Mathieu to come back for his senior and continue to be one of, if not the, most productive defensive playmakers in LSU and SEC history.

Knile Davis is a better back than Lattimore IMO but I don't see either going that high in next year's draft, especially considering having to already deal with injuries.

He's not one to really break a long run off for sure. The most impressive thing to me was how much Spurrier ran him during his freshman year and he still managed to consistently get the tough yards and stayed healthy. That little gameplan backfired this past year and that's why I think he drops a little.

Yeah, while he was healthy he had better numbers against better defenses. Pretty crazy conclusion, huh?

Not confusing at all. I took what you first posted and went with that. You have been more clear about what you think of Lattimore since. You will see I already posted I didn't think he would go that high especially since he had a major injury.

Not really. Lattimore had 1200 yards as a freshman and 17 touchdowns. Davis had 163 yards and 4 td's.

Latt was hurt in his second season so obviously his numbers won't be as good. He never played an entire season. And he still almost had as many touchdowns, 10, as Davis had in a full second season, 14, with about 50 less carries.

You lose homer.

Shocking

Each has had one injury-free season so far.

Marcus:

1197 yards rushing, 17 TDs, 4.8 ypc

Knile:

1322 yards rushing, 13 TDs, 5.3 ypc

Too lazy to crunch the numbers but Knile also did this against a more difficult overall schedule in terms of defense he played against.

What I think is shocking is how quickly people dismiss this.
