Most wins since 2020 by any team in the country.

Congrats, Sarah! You should be very proud. Wake me up if y'all ever make noise in Omaha. Cheers!

Now tell us how many World Series that the Vols have won with him

Hes only 45 years old. He has only been coaching at UT 6 years. But you think coaches like Bianco are better when it took Bianco 22 years to get his 1st title. It also took Johnson 11 years as a HC to get his first title. I say Vitello is well ahead of both of them through the same point in their careers.

It’s not fiat to compare a coaches 6 years to another coaches 14 years or 22 years when it took them 10+ years to win their first one. It even took Skip Bertman 8 years to win his 1st title as HC.

I don't see it.

Johnson just turned 47, basically a year and a few months older than Vitello.

Johnson won a natty in his 10th season and Vitello is in his 7th.

Johnson had a natty appearance in his 3rd season, Vitello has a single win in Omaha.

Johnsons been a HC- for 13 years. Don’t count Covid year, it’s 12.

Vitello been a HC- for 7 years, doubt count covid year, he’s in year 6.

Johnson won his 1st natty in his 11 year as a HC.

Vitello had only coached 6 season.

JJ took over a team that had just won the World Series 3 years prior. That Arizona team had talent on it already when he showed up.

Vitello took over the worst team in the SEC. In fact the Vols had only won 16 SEC the 2 years prior to his arrival and he flipped the program and was in Omaha in his 3rd year.

The way I see it he rebuilt a program at UT from the ground up and JJ has been fortunate enough to take over teams that’s already loaded with talent. I would argue that not many coaches can do what he’s done at UT. Hell, Dave Serrano was a great coach on the west coast and was considered by many as a great coach. At the time Serrano was considered a great hire, and even he couldn’t deliver in Knoxville.

Tennessee has a good coach. No doubt about it. But sometimes being in a lesser program stops that coach from achieving their dreams. Look at Saban and Bryant. Bear didn’t win a title until he got to Bama. Saban won one but ran to Bama to make it easier. If Vitello wants to win some titles he needs to move on to Texas or LSU. A blue blood program. He is wasting his energy there.
