OU is our ticket to the SEC believe it or not (I’m a Texan so no Okie bias). The way Gundy and them handled that was dumb, nobody needs to be burning bridges at this time. OU even tried to get the SEC to take us a few times before Texas so I don’t blame OU for leaving one bit, Big 12 sat on their arse for 10 years.

Man that is a really impressive run by Bama against ranked teams...same with georgia...misery is right on par with nebrasky, and they are in the middle of their lowest low.

And to be honest, I don’t see a big drop this year either. Everyone wants it to happen but the new coach is good. And let me use OU as an example of why I say this.

When Bob Stoops retired he left LR a loaded title team. All he had to do was turn the key and fond a smidgen of defense, thats it. And LR failed.

Fast forward and the new Bama coach is way better than LR and was left a loaded roster. I think he can do some damage with it and will not write them off for the title game. Many teams in SEC could make title game there is massive deep talent.

But Bama got a much better coach than OU did when Bob retired. It will take a few years before we see the new Bama team just like with Brent. In year 3 of new coach things will start to be sorted out.

One last note. LR never once has said anything about the talent Bob left him. Guy was a snake. And no matter how good Bama does this year, most will say it was Sabans players. The true test will come 3 years from now

To be fair the only big 12 schools that were consistently ranked YOY were us, ya’ll, maybe Kansas state, and maybe Texas at some point.

How is OU your ticket to SEC? That ship has sailed. Any future expansion would be footprint for viewers so adding you would not gain anything.

And your school acted badly in this whole deal. At a time to be thinking ahead (don’t burn bridges) you burned them all and trapped yourself on an island.

The pettiness displayed by osu is no different than what FSU is doing. SEC commish laughs at FSU making a fool of themselves, imagine what he thinks of osu temper tantrum saying they will not play OU again.

This is one of the only times I’ve seen oSu fans be honest about OU’s departure and no Bedlam games on the horizon. Props.

Will a win against oklahoma erase over a century of mediocrity?

That’s why I said the way OSU and Gundy handled it was dumb. Hell half of yalls SEC tv deal is more than the Big 12, shoulda begged for that.

Oklahoma had an offer to be the 14th SEC team instead of Mizzou. Slive flew up to Norman to personally extend the offer. Boren asked Stoops. Stoops said Oklahoma couldn’t compete in the SEC as well and it would be much more difficult than the Big 12. Stoops recommended staying in the Big 12. Boren agreed. Mizzou joins a week later.

Trash program full of scared fans.

Pretty easy to make a change when you have frickall to lose, like TAMU and Missouri.

It's a new day, Brokeback. Y'all were cheating by paying players for decades. Now it's all out in the open and Mizzou is playing the game and kicking asses. NIL has evened the playing field and the kids don't give a damn about hardware earned before their memory. Cope.

You should still play the Bedlam game.

I'm an OK State grad. While OU leaving the Big12 triggered it, it was OK State that said no, at least in the immediate future, due to previous out-of-conference commitments.

Not gonna miss that game....nothing in it for us...we are supposed to win 9 out of 10....it's their super bowl, not ours....frickem

It always struck me as a lose lose situation for OU, sort of like a young man whipping an old man's arse. OU won it most of the time so it viewed as much of a win. IF OSU managed to keep it close or actually win it was a HUGE win for them. OU got very little out of it and no matter the outcome OSU got a lot out of it...lose and it was expected, keep it close and OSU was on the come....manage to actually win and OSU had taken over the state.

I like nothing better than to throw off on all things Texas because Texans take it to heart so easily....very thin skinned group. I know a good many Oklahoma fans and they are great people....I like to frick with them also but it doesn't hurt their feelings like it does Texans. All that said the addition of OU and UT to the SEC is FANTASTIC for the conference and the game of CFB. OU and UT are both storied programs who will, based on history, be near the top of the SEC most years. I am certain UGA will lose to either or both some years and when that happens I will no doubt hate them with a burning passion but from a logics POV the addition made the best conference in CFB exponentially better and the games between the 2 and the old conference members will be great. The only down side, besides having to rub shoulders with Texans, is the TV deal is woefully undervalued with the addition of Texas and OU.

We actually have the move to SEC to thank for getting rid of Stinkin Riley. When it was announced he immediately had his reps working on a new gig. The SEC reputation (plus he failed his head to head SEC games) scared him away. So thanks are in order to the SEC for doing us a big ole favor

Venable has built his team at the LOS to come and compete at the SEC level. You actually have 3 very good recruiting and transfer classes baked into your SEC debut. Why you let Dillion Gabrielle go to Oregon is a bit of a mystery, but I guess that is a huge belief in the new guy.

It won't be long before all of us have to put potential to reality. It's about time.

2 or 3 years of Jackson Arnold > 1 more year of Dillon Gabriel
