Georgia fans clowned on Bennett the entire year. Playing a single good half of football doesn’t make him good

It’s like everyone in the national media has forgotten what he did in the CFP. Around January most people here agreed he didn’t get enough credit and was a Top 3-5 SEC QB.
Now it’s like it never even happened. He’s not Patrick Mahomes, but he’s a very solid college QB, and a hell of a lot better than Anthony Richardson.
National media don't care about Stetson Bennett because he will be a target this year and many teams will get to him unlike last year. Once they get film on UGA offense they will figure out how to stop him. That is what I am saying this is what the national media are thinking.

He played the whole year of pretty good to great football. Heck, he won a natty, with freshman receivers and an "ok" run game. These are facts. And, I agree, dawgs have been hard on him, a little too much.

This is how i know that you are an idiot.
1) he doesnt protect the football. He is a 5'10" with a gun slingers mentality.
2) but if you challenge challenge him with man coverage, he will go over top. That is where the conference leading 10 yards per attempt comes in (and 2nd in conference 23 passes over 25 yards in the first half of 2021).
The kid thinks he is superman. Literally. Baker Mayfield ego from a former walkon (and that was before the 2021 season).

Finishing the year Top 5 in qbr and pass efficiency shows be played more than just a half of good football.
Some of you people are just dumb

Objectively, Stetson Bennett was better than Richardson last year. However, look at the surrounding talent Stetson had. Richardson is far the superior QB if he had similar talent around him. I don’t think there’s any question in that.
But I am bookmarking this for when Richardson has a better season than Bennett, with Bennett having such a significant advantage because of the talent around him.

Lol
Ok... what is the secret sauce?
How do you "get" to stetson?
There is 2 seasons of film with him starting.

How can there not be questions about hypothetical statements like yours? Anthony Richardson appears to be more physically talented, but less capable as an actual QB. Maybe it’s the coaching, but then again you spent the last few years telling the Rant how great of a QB coach and OC Mullen was, so what the frick do you know?

I respect Bennett. He is pretty effective and while he is not the athletes that some of the others are, he seldom will lose a game. We (Bama) have had several National Championship QBs that fit that description and they are some of my favorites. Anyone remember Jay Barker? Blake Sims nearly won one, GMac AJ, and Coker were all lacking the elite skills of Namath, Stabler, Tua, Young, etc. but they all had a ring. Good for Bennett but the rankings are fair.

Y’all are national champs. You can accept Bennett isn’t very good now

Better overall performance is what makes the list. If Richardson can't get the better overall performance over Bennett, then he should be behind him until he does play better than him. It's that simple!

There are two metrics/stats designed to measure how good a QB is: QBR and Pass Efficency. He was top 5 nationally in both in 2021.

I can't wait for Manning to break all of your QB records and make all of these QBs his bitch.
How many years are you willing to wait? It will be at least 3 years before we know if he is ready.

2-4 are interchangeable.
And Georgia fans can think Arkansas for Bennett’s success. We would’ve beat you in 2020 if you left D’wan Mathis in… Bennett came in and the rest is history.

I am glad that Mathis came to UGA as I believe the diagnosis and brain surgery he had saved his life. That said, he was one of the worst QBs I’ve ever seen.

How do you propose we evaluate the performance of QBs?
Posted on 7/15/22 at 5:35 pm to Dawgfanman
Certainly not by a metric created by fricking espn that’s dumb as hell

I know this might be crazy, but you can use your eyes and see that he’s pretty damn average. It’s ok though. He did what he needed to on the biggest stage.
