I think the writers made more of an uneducated wish list than a probable prediction

AUBURN TIGERS
at Georgia,
Texas,
at Alabama,
LSU

FLORIDA GATORS
LSU,
at Tennessee,
Georgia
at Texas

TEXAS A&M AGGIES
at Alabama,
Oklahoma
Texas

TENNESSEE VOLUNTEERS
at Georgia,
Alabama,
at Oklahoma,
Florida

LSU TIGERS
at Alabama,
Oklahoma,
at Florida
Texas
at Auburn

GEORGIA BULLDOGS
Auburn,
Florida (Jacksonville),
Tennessee
Alabama

ALABAMA CRIMSON TIDE
LSU,
Texas A&M,
at Oklahoma
at Tennessee,
at Georgia,
Auburn

OKLAHOMA SOONERS
at LSU,
Texas (Dallas),
Alabama,
Tennessee,
at Texas A&M

TEXAS LONGHORNS
at Texas A&M
at Auburn,
Florida,
Oklahoma (Dallas),
at LSU

A&M's schedule is too soft Texas, Oklahoma, Alabama, and LSU all have fairly challenging schedules.

Auburn, Florida, Georgia and Tennessee seem like a decent but not over difficult plate.

Anyway as a stop gap until a permanent solution is agreed upon? I wonder if they don't slide Oklahoma into the east as the Texas permanent. It changes the least possible, keeps divisions and pretty balanced SOS.

The example in the OP shows uneven schedule differences can be with other random arrangements.

Why did everyone decide to just accept that we're playing @ College Station? A&M has no power in the SEC. If we play there it's because we felt bad for emasculating them.

Not shock at all having to go to Tuscaloosa 2 years in a row.

Given LSU's home record against Bama (9-29,) I figure they'd want to play as many games as possible in Tuscaloosa.

How about this group of 4 each?
It isn’t perfect, but it’s pretty good.

AL - AUB, TN, LSU, OU
AUB - AL, GA, FL, A&M
FL - GA, LSU, AUB, TN
GA - FL, AUB, TN, TX
LSU - A&M, FL, AL, TX
A&M - LSU, TX, OU, AUB
TX - OU, A&M, LSU, GA
OU - TX, TN, A&M, AL
TN - AL, OU, GA, FL

I like the permanent opponents for LSU but if there's no real divisions or groupings shenanigans are a likely byproduct.

You'd have 11 other non permanent teams to rotate through without the structure of divisions or pods to make it less irregular or corrupt

Why would we play Ole Miss so soon instead of getting a different West team? Also, I think Oklahoma was scheduled as an OOC that year anyway. I know both UGA and UT had to cancel the OOC with them.
