2025 SEC Rowing Champions - Texas Longhorns!

Rowing became the 22nd sport to be sponsored by the conference and the 13th women’s sport in which an SEC Championship is conducted. Four SEC universities currently sponsor the sport of rowing and will participate in the championship: Alabama, Oklahoma, Tennessee and Texas.
Regatta Rundown
-The inaugural SEC Rowing Championship will feature 6 race pieces, ranging from the First Varsity 8 to the Third Varsity 4
-Alabama, Oklahoma, Tennessee and Texas will each have pre-assigned lanes for the duration of the regatta
-The first race will begin at 9:05 a.m. ET, with the next five races happening every 15 minutes
-The schedule of racing is as follows:
9:05 a.m - Third Varsity Four crews
9:20 a.m. - Third Varsity Eight crews
9:35 a.m. - Two Varsity Four crews
9:50 a.m. - One Varsity Four crews
10:05 a.m. - Two Varsity Eight crews
10:20 a.m. - One Varsity Eight crews

If by “rowing” you mean it in the British sense “to quarrel noisily,” this league has many multi-time champions with both claimed and unclaimed titles

I had no idea the SEC had adopted rowing. Glad our team doesn't have to compete in CUSA anymore.

Good luck to the 4 teams that have this as a university sport.
Most of us only have it as a club sport.

Florida has had club rowing since 1984. I think it would be a great sport to add to our athletic dept.

Congrat's Texas!
Looked to me like Tennessee went out too fast. Texas caught them in the last 500 meters.

Side note...the book Boys in the boat is a good read. Never a w movie, book was good. Those were some hard tough SOBs back in the day!
