Alabama is like South Carolina in that there aren’t really any BIG cities but there are quite a few decent middle size population areas. As opposed to Oklahoma which has a lot more completely empty space

Gotcha but the miles of wastelands are where it's at in Oklahoma with all the wonderful lakes and the Mountains in the South and Ozarks in the North

I admittedly haven't been in all areas of OK but have traveled across the state a few times when driving out West.

I don't remember seeing many mountains in the state outside of the extreme eastern part of the state. The notable exception was the Wichita Mtns near Altus which were kinda cool but mainly because of the painfully flat, monotonous treeless landscape surrounding it

The turnpike heading northwest from
Tulsa has some lovely rolling terrain but again not really mountainous

I could live in the OKC or Tulsa areas but outside of those areas OK feels too flat and isolated. Nothing wrong if that's your cup of tea but it would be hard to adjust to if you grew up with heavily wooded landscapes and use to be being within only a 3 to 4 hour drive from the beach

The dust bowl destroyed parts of Kansas, Oklahoma and Nebraska nearly 100 years ago. Nature ultimately is very resilient even going up against mankind’s drive to put concrete up everywhere.

i am in Cobb and my neighbors are one dogs fan, one bama, and one ohio state and even a tech fan on the street. But majority of East Cobb is probably from up north now.

I do appreciate how well defined cities and towns are in OK and are in the plains, Midwest, and out west. The cities and towns there tend to be cleaner over than those in the South where you people are scattered everywhere.
