Hagen smith will get the start tomorrow. Wonder how DVH limits him. 60 pitches or so?

They need to at least get some playtime. Can’t get too stiff.

I’m an expert.

I’ve noticed a cessation in serial downvoting at a similar timeframe Tennessee fans have fled from the forum.

Takes serious commitment to downvote every single post in this entire thread. Someone must of gotten tired.

Nope, they got their second wind!

Serious question, when a ball is hit to a pitcher it seems like they generally trot over and toss it underhanded to 1st base instead of just throwing it unless it’s a bang bang situation.

Why not just throw it over there?

Seems like all pitchers do it. I’ll hang up and listen.

Must have something to do with arm angles and comfort. Those guys put so much stress on their elbows, maybe a little toss is uncomfortable. Like big men shooting free throws, they just don’t have the touch

Well, if it’s right back to them, they need to get off the mound to ensure a good throw to first. Since they’re moving that way already, the toss is easier. A sharp underhand toss is way better than an overhand lob.

If the hit goes to the left, it’s easier to run and make a good toss.

If the hit takes them to the right of the mound, they’ll plant the back foot and throw to first. Now, since he’s been throwing downhill all game there is risk with him airmailing first base.

That’s why they always do PFPs (Pitcher Fielding Practice).

Bianco why did you have to do this. Now you're gonna let State get hot facing a bunch of scrub pitchers.

Probably so, at one point I thought it was like rubbing the batter’s nose in it,but it seems to be a common practice among them. I guess it could be guarding against errant throws.

A&M is throwing a guy with an ERA of 12. This is a prime example of gifting someone a win.

We’ve hit 4 balls in two innings with an exit velocity of over 100. And the defender has had to move about 5 ft total. Is what it is lol
