You are losing a few key pieces imo and UGA was good last year but not great. College football had no elite teams last year. Huge down year in general imo.

We saw what a healthy rebuilding Bama team did to you in the SECCG last year. And Bama had no business being good enough to be in the CFB playoffs last year. There were no truly elite teams last year. Georgia was just a good well balanced all around team certainly not the juggernaut that UGA fans are acting like it was. Vols had WRs running wide open all game long against you guys.

They play the games for a reason. I’m just curious how far back that step is going to be for UGA.

Not much. I mean the offense returns most people. The defense will take a small step back, but not as great as many on here hope. It will mainly be across the front 4, and we still return one of those. Jalen Carter) Some of the other guys got a lot of reps and we have some (supposedly) very talented players coming on board.

Offensively we will (Should) be a decent amount better.
Defense worse than last year but will probably be somewhere along the lines of 2017 or 2018.

quote:

2 back up RBs,
We rotate 3 RB regularly and one of those will be back. Milton will be back and so will McIntosh. Add in Daijun Edwards and Branson Robinson coming in and our RBs could possibly be stronger.

quote:

an unsettled OLine,
What is unsettled about it? We replace our LT with a guy thta got a ton of reps and actually plaed a good bit in the National Championship game at LT.
Center returns. We replace the RG with the guy that was starting at RG and was injured in the first game.
In short we return most of our Oline.

quote:

1 offensive threat at receiver (a TE)

Do what? Adonai Mitchell scored in the National Championship...Kearis Jackson will be back...Ladd McConkey played a ton and started a good bit...Arian Smith returns, Dominick Blylock returns...not sure where you are getting your information from....but it's wrong.

I don't think you have looked at our defensive two deep if you think it is rebuilding. Most of our starters this year was in our two deep last year and almost all of their backups were in the system last season as well. Will we need a bit of time to rebuild some experience. Yes. That's safe to say. But I think we play your Vols in week #10, so....

quote:

And this is before the arrests and transfers from the summer.
I don't remember us losing anybody to arrests last year and yes, we will have some transfers. But have you not been watching how we've been recruiting? And....we are expected to bring in 2-3 more transferring in.

You keep saying the same stuff over and over and we keep[ correcting you. Either you are not reading or you are not comprehending.

Meanwhile....you continue to take shots about arrests, yet:

Mar 31, 2021 · Three Tennessee football players have court dates set for April 12 following their March arrest in connection with an incident at Stokely Hall.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — Tennessee quarterback Kaidon Salter, just three weeks after returning to the team following a suspension in March, was arrested Saturday, June 19, for simple possession along with a second player recently added to the team.

Tennessee linebacker Kivon Bennett has been dismissed from the team after he was arrested on weapons and drug charges during a traffic stop on Tuesday morning.

Bryce Thompson, a sophomore, was charged with misdemeanor domestic assault and was jailed, according to the Knoxville News Sentinel. The incident occurred at Stokely Hall at the University of Tennessee-Knoxville, the newspaper reported, citing court documents.

It would appear as if Tennessee has more to be worried about as for arrests than Georgia does. I mean we have some depth.

Uga always loses a few key pieces without a big dropoff.

We were good enough to win a National Championship. People keep wanting to say how bad football was last year, but their own team couldn't win when it was so bad so what does thta say about you?

quote:

We saw what a healthy rebuilding Bama team did to you in the SECCG last year.

And yet, not a word about how we were NOT healthy in that game or the National Championship game. Why is it that injuries only hurt the other team? Fascinating how that works.

And you still got beat 41-17. And with our weak offense, too!

My bad. You're correct. I should have checked closer. I thought Our Lads adjusted their class since they were touting it as a 2022 depth chart. My apologies.

Since you are more knowledgeable about your team than I am (Obviously) did all those freshmen get good playing time last year? I am looking forward to the game. Oregon seems to be the only PAC 12 team worth watching right now and with a shot to break through. (USC could change that with Lincoln Riley, though)

While true, you still got beat by Stanford, Utah (twice) and Oklahoma. You've got to get more s=consistent. And it could happen. I think Lanning was a great choice and will do well there. At least, I hope he does well.

6 of those players were true frosh last year. I am not sure why Keanu Williams is on “Ourlads” depth chart as the #1 NT. Naturally they matriculate to the next class in the fall.
Yes, I saw that and figured it out later. I apologize. My bad. It was not an attempt to troll. Promise. And you are correct. At this point things could change greatly with the transfer portal. Probably for the better for Oregon. Our Lads is usually pretty accurate, but at this point they can only speculate.

Last year we had unprecedented injuries and a HC with a foot out the door.

Franklin and Thornton are very talented and played towards the end of the year. The TEs basically were the #1 and #2 TEs all year. Bassa played a lot too.

Oregon won’t lose because of turnover. Cristobal also left a very talented team relative to our baseline and a very balanced roster. That said, it’s a new staff, the talent is still not the same as Georgia’s and we could be starting Bo Nix. I think it’s a tough ask for Oregon to pull an upset in Atlanta.

I get that, and I think having a new HC could be a hinderance in the short term but a plus in the long term. We had a ton of injuries and losses due to legal problems, personal issues, too. Our top 3-4 WRs, a projected 1st round Edge Rusher, DBs, and a TE.

There's your wild card. He can look all world and then regress to a terrible freshman in the same game. He's an enigma. If y'all can get his head on straight, he can win you a lot of games. He seems to really struggle with a lot of pressure. Your Oline will need to be very stout and give him time. Given time he can pick a defense apart.

At least top 5 for the 2020s.

The D was deep and talented, the O was average on a good day.

Decade as in 2012-2021. Only a couple of teams have an argument of being better than uga 2021.

If Ty Thompson wins the job, I could Oregon making it a game. He has a ton of arm talent.

I'll have to look him up. I don't know much about him, but I would be surprised if Nix isn't there to start. He has game experience and that means a lot. It's the game i most look forward to in the coming season. I like games like this. I'm glad they put it together.

Total passing yards 3778 in 15 games (250 a game) (only 2 games over 300 all season.

Little man contributed 2862 in 14 games for 204 a game, 4-1 TD to INT and sub 65% comp. Huge stat line by UGA standards I guess but fairly pedestrian. They did add 145 yards rushing a game. Respectable until you look closer at their schedule. They played 4 teams that were ranked in the final standings. Played 6 teams either in year 1 of a rebuild or fired at the end of the year. An incredibly soft schedule that allowed to out roster everyone (including a depleted Bama in a rematch).

Well, that's not true.

We played Alabama twice, Arkansas, Kentucky, Michigan...5 times we played teams that finished ranked. According to Sagarin Georgia played the #10 toughest schedule in the country, meanwhile Tennessee played the 40th toughest schedule.

Seems like Tennessee should have done much, much better with that weak schedule....but alas, they sucked.
Further Tennessee went 1-4 against the ranked opponents they played and lost to an unranked team.

Ouch.

And, btw? Those 3778 yards were more than that high powered Tennessee offense passed for.

Tennessee averaged 257 yards passing a game and Georgia averaged 251 yards passing a game playing a tougher schedule.

Ouch.

Tennessee had a first year head coach and is rapidly improving .

As far as the UGA game score goes Hooker had his biggest off game of the year because of an injury that he played through. That game could have gone either way had he been on like he was against Kentucky.
