A1abana’s brutal 2020 schedule:
(3-7) Arkansas
(3-7) Tennessee
(4-7) Mississippi State
(4-6) Kentucky
(5-5) Missouri
(5-5) LSU
(5-5) Ole Miss
(6-5) Auburn
(7-1) Ohio State
(8-4) Florida
Please, correct me if I'm missing something, but, Bama's 2020 football scheduled looked like this:
@Missouri (5-5)
TAMU (9-1)
@OleMiss (5-5)
UGA (8-2)
@UTenn (3-7)
MSState (4-7)
@LSU (5-5)
UK (5-6)
Auburn (6-5)
@Arkansas (3-7)
UF (8-4)
Not sure why you left off TAMU and UGA.
And LSU shouldn't even consider U of TX from 2019; they finished 7-5. That essentially makes 4 quality regular season wins for LSU in 2019 vs. 3 for Bama in 2020. Also need to thank their lucky stars the refs weren't calling all the holding by the LSU offensive line against Auburn's front seven that year.

I don't know or care who the GOAT is, but the argument about Bama's "all power 5 teams schedule" is ridiculous. LSU's 2019 schedule was far more daunting amd it's not close.

"Far more" is a stretch.

Nebraska’s best team has a case as does Miami’s
I’d love for our 2019 team to play either one of them and think we have the better resume.
Alabama 2020 is * city, they were plenty good too but I just don’t think the Covid year does them favors perception wise and the schedule was lacking.

People keep saying Covid asterisk. yes, it was a thing, but the majority of teams in the SEC had their teams intact.
The teams with the most significant opt outs were the ones that weren't going to compete anyway.

What was the average ranking of each regular season team?
Posted on 1/14/22 at 4:12 pm to Tuscaloosa
Let it go, let it go. It’s ok to be a close finisher. Probably not even 2nd or 3rd though.

7 top 10 victories…the most of all time

It matters where they finished, and they didn't all finish in the top 10. Texas was most definitely not a top ten team and proved it by finishing 7-5.

Texas was actually a really good team, they just got decimated by injuries that year.
They played LSU tit for tat better than anyone else.

Well you, that's like bama logic. Because had,.say LSU, been ranked in the top 10 when bama played them.... yet finished out of the top 25, then bama would claim a win over a top 10 team.
So in order to fairly assess each year, you gotta know how to look at each team played. Base it off where they finish or where they were when they played.
The argument bama always uses is.... "we played an all SEC schedule." True, but a bad SEC year it was... plus they played 2 less games.

LSU had wins over 5 of the final AP top 10.
#2 Clemson (blow out)
#4 Georgia (blow out)
#6 Florida (blow out)
#7 Oklahoma (massive blow out, could have scored 100)
#8 Alabama
If you extend it to top 15.
#14 Auburn
If you extend it to top 25.
#25 Texas.
Coach's Poll numbers
#2 Clemson
#4 Georgia
#6 Oklahoma
#7 Florida
#8 Alabama
#14 Auburn
We also defeated the ACC Champion, Big XII Champion, SEC East Champion, Orange Bowl winner, Sugar Bowl winner and Citrus Bowl winner.
I'd say that's a pretty damn good resume historically. Our 2011 team has a similar, if not better resume actually. They just didn;t finish the thing off.

Bama may say that, but I don't. I no more give credit for Bama beating a team that ends up unranked than I do LSU. Where a team finishes matters far more than any other point of time in the season. LSU fans chub hard over being able to say "7 top 10 wins". It's a stat with an asterisk. Hell, y'all were number 6 in the country when MS State came to death valley and won. You think I'm going to hang my hat on that given how the rest of LSU and MS State seasons went?
Don't really care about two less games. LSU had 3 non conference rent-a-wins.

He has plenty of company with all the LSU fans that went to New Orleans in the 2011 season.

Um we had the same exact offense the year before and scored ZERO vs bama. Joe Brady changed the offensive identity and philosophy.

Continue sitting in that corner. To no surprise, you big time lost this argument.
