Allowed 28 to TAMU. TAMU only scored 28 or more more against 3 other P5 opponents (Arky, MSU, SCAR)
Allowed 23 to SCAR. SCAR only scored 23 or more against 3 other P5 opponents (Vandy, Kentucky, Florida)
Allowed 31 to Ole Miss. Ole Miss only scored 31 or more against 3 other P5 opponents (Arky, Vandy, LSU)

I think it is clear that Alabama had a better defense than Arkansas, MSU, Vandy, and SCAR. So Pete Golding and Saban have that going for them, which is nice.

Would you also rate Miss St's defense as being better than Georgia?

Also Auburn and Michigan?

Wow, this is so dumb, I'm not going any further.

You're not wrong; it is also fair to point out that 32 of those points vs A&M, South Carolina and Ole Miss came in the 4th quarter against backups. Depth was the biggest concern, and it's clear when you see that in games where the score gets closer with Alabama holding a lead of over 20 points and subbing in 3rd stringers. 39% of those points came when the game was practically over and Alabama was letting the dance team play some LB (because we really needed some extra bodies there).

If you do Georgia, you get similiar things.

For example, they gave up 37 to LSU, but Miss St only gave up 36 and Auburn only gave up 23.

Meanwhile, they gave up 17 to Notre Dame, while Michigan only gave up 14 points.

They managed to hold Tennessee to 14. But Alabama held them to 13 and Florida held them to 3.

And those are the only 3 teams I checked. I'm pretty sure I could keep going down the list and find plenty more.

He's just butthurt and trolling.

And with the injuries and youth on Alabama's defensive side of the ball, I totally understand getting depth some game day reps.

It is okay to say Alabama didn't have a good defense last year. I could link several threads from the Alabama board in December saying as much.

With that said, I don't think Alabama beats Clemson last season. And that's okay. Clemson finished 2nd and were the only team to ever be up on LSU by double digits in 2019.

I don't really sense it from your posts, but I think another Alabama fan is still a little sensitive to 44-16. Maybe he cancelled Christmas in 2018 and took a payday loan out on his truck to fly the family out to California to watch that game and is still a little upset about it.

Cool story. My company is based in San Jose and I don't fly.

But I see we've reached the making up fantasy stories part of this discussion. My personal favorite.

Tell me more!

Alabama had the 3rd best defense in the nation last year.

My bad, you already told us that one.

It was better than Georgia's according to your logic.

Georgia gave up 14 to Tennessee but Alabama only gave up 13.

UGA played at UTK and TSIO was in Tuscaloosa. 1 point difference, LOL.

You are the one using this stupid crap and then claiming the SP+ is garbage.

I'm just laughing at you.

South Carolina probably would have scored more if they had needed it to win.

SP+ is highly suspect. I don't see how OSU offensively or defensively can be that high based on their schedule before Clemson

I see 2 losses if Clemson played LSU's schedule including SEC title game.

They wouldn't have played LSU's schedule...They would have been in the East, so they only would have played Bama on rotation. I think they win the East (with no more than 1 loss) and lose to LSU in the SECCG.

I forgot about SCAR's Pick 6.

UGA vs Alabama Defensive points allowed against common opponents in regulation:
UTK- +1 Alabama
SCAR- +13 UGA
TAMU- +15 UGA
AU- +20 UGA
LSU: +9 UGA

Did you see OSU vs Wisconsin in the Big Ten title game? OSU WRs are pretty pedestrian and they made Wisconsin secondary look flat-footed. That conference is awful

Like it or not they are the 2nd best conference in college football and while they aren't the SEC they are better than you seem to give them credit for.

No doubt. That loss prevented UGA from going to Atlanta and put UGA out of a NY6 bowl game.

I think I would have rather have GTU's 3rd string RB truck my All-American Safety at the goal line for the go ahead TD then have Kirby run too many men on the field to ice the game so I could have taken the family to Orlando.
