Fine, okay. Don't change a thing on defense. Alabama's defense is going to be just fine next season. Pete Golding will probably win the 2020 Broyles Award.

Bruh, Game 5 of last year's NLDS has totally replaced my pain from those Alabama games.

But keep on posting them. Being the best SEC team in the 205 area code last season is a hell of an accomplishment for Saban and that SP+ #3 defense.

I already posted the link, along with an explanation as to what it actually was.

Copy and paste as I'm not typing it out again.

The SP+ is a power metric, not a ranking tool.

What it really says is Ohio St had the #4 offense and the #2 defense, and the 21st best ST. That all added up to be higher than anyone else.

LSU had the #1 offense, but their defense ranked all the way down to #20, which is what killed them. And that's not surprising because we all know LSU's defense struggled for the majority of the season. That's why they are #2.

Alabama had the #3 defense and the #2 offense, but the special teams was a horrible 89th.

Clemson was similiar with ST, but came in #4 defense(nearly tied with Alabama), #5 offense and the 84th ST's.

Georgia had the #1 defense, but your offense is shite and ranked way down in 32nd. Also had the #1 ST.

All of that is basically consistent with what we saw last year.

Alabama's defense played good enough to win that game,

Subtract -14 from Auburn's score. Auburn's SP+ #34 offense put up 34 points on Alabama. The only P5 teams Auburn scored more than 34 on were Mississippi State and Arkansas.

Alabama's defense sucked last year, and the injuries and freshman were a large reason why. And that is okay because Pete Golding is a great defensive coordinator and Bama gon' be back!

Georgia's was better and Ohio St's was better.

LSU not even close. They improved over the year, but they were not good.

Auburn was close, but of course you'll just mention 1 side of the game, and not mention that the Alabama offense scored all those points against Auburn.

The fact you even mentioned Pac12 teams is extremely laughable.

Did I miss any?

There is nothing that needs to be changed on the defense, other than getting kids out there with experience. Hopefully this new strategy with S&C pays off.

And I am glad to have Pete Golding back next year. He's extremely underrated and given the circumstances he did a great job. While many Alabama fans wanted him gone and thought he would be gone, I was not among them, nor was I even remotely surprised when Saban kept him on staff. I said he would remain on staff back in December.

Oh, you thought I was butthurt about him huh?

Do you think we should we put it to the left or right of this trophy?

Oh wait, like a Georgia fan knows where to put trophies.

Is one game enough of a sample size to determine a good vs bad portion of a team?

Does LSU only scoring 23 on Auburn equate them to being bad on offense, when Minnesota, Florida and Alabama all scored more on Auburn than that (with Alabama scoring 45 (37 on offense) with a backup QB? Of course not.

Alabama played one good offense all year in LSU. Not fair to compare our defense with Bama's statistically

Advanced stats like the SP+ takes these things into account.

How many good offenses did LSU play?

NY6 is dumb, but at least our record isn't 1-1 in the same bowl game over the past 4 years.

LSU was better and a fully healthy Alabama was better.

Allowed 34 to the Barn's offense. Auburn only scored 34 or more against 2 other P5 opponents (Arky and MSU).
Allowed 28 to TAMU. TAMU only scored 28 or more more against 3 other P5 opponents (Arky, MSU, SCAR)
Allowed 23 to SCAR. SCAR only scored 23 or more against 3 other P5 opponents (Vandy, Kentucky, Florida)
Allowed 31 to Ole Miss. Ole Miss only scored 31 or more against 3 other P5 opponents (Arky, Vandy, LSU)

I think it is clear that Alabama had a better defense than Arkansas, MSU, Vandy, and SCAR. So Pete Golding and Saban have that going for them, which is nice.
