Bama Loses to Auburn- 26-14 regular season.
UGA losses to Auburn - 42-7 regular season.
UGA beat Auburn in Atlanta- 28-7

Bama and UGA still made the playoffs with Bama winning the title 26-23 over UGA.
Just like Bama, UT don’t need the SEC championship to get in the playoffs or win it.

Both games was at Auburn and Bama lost like we did and UGA was blown out. Both Bama and UGA was #1 at the time they lost in the CFP. Going into week 13 rankings Bama was sitting at #5 and UGA #6.

Remaining schedule of teams in top 10
UGA- Mississippi State, UK, Ga Tech, SEC Champ game.
Ohio St- Indiana, Maryland Michigan, Big10 Champ game.
Michigan- Nebraska, Illinois, @OSU, Possible Big10 game.
TCU- @Texas, @Baylor, Iowa State, Big 12 game
UT- Missouri, USC, Vandy
Oregon- Washington, Utah, @ Oregon State, Possible Pac 12 game
LSU- @Ark, UAB, @aTm, Possible SEC game
USC- Colorado, @UCLA, Notre Damn possible Pac 12 game.
Ole Miss - Bama, Arkansas, Mississippi State, Possible SEC game
UCLA- Arizona, USC, Cal, Possible Pac12 game.

UGA wins the SEC gets the #3 slot while bama gets the #4 slot. Both Bama and UGA make it to national title game and Bama wins.

This season is far from over regardless what UGA fans wants to believe. Most UGA fans will tell you that UT was blown out, but that didn’t seem to matter for Bama or UGA in 2017. UT is sitting in the same position as Bama was in 2017. UT gets to sit back and watch at least 2 teams ahead of them lose between now and there conference championship games.

See you for the rematch UGA in the CFP.

Bama/Tennessee........one thing is not like the other. Bama was historically the best football team for many years before 2017, Tennessee wasn't even ranked at the beginning of the year. You do have a small window of opportunity to get in the playoffs, but you better win all your remaining games by fidy or you will enjoy a nice Outback bowl.

We have the easiest schedule remaining. Even if we don’t make the playoffs we are going to the Sugar bowl. The highest ranked SEC team that’s not in playoffs goes to the Sugar bowl. We don’t have to win by fiddy when TCU, Michigan Stars/OSU will lose before CFP. We lost to the #1 team in the country in their home field. The committee won’t punish UT for it. UGA gets blasted by auburn in 2017 and only fell to #6. We will be either #4 or #5 when CFP poll comes out. Not many if any of the teams below yall can do any better than we did at your place.

Not really. We know Ohio State and Michigan play. One of them are guaranteed to lose.
TCU still has Texas and Baylor on the road. Texas is a -7 point favorite. It’s guaranteed that 2 teams ahead of UT will lose at least 1 game.
The worst this that could happen is UGA not win the SEC. If UGA don’t win the SEC then UT won’t get in.

psssssttttt....bama made the playoffs because OSU had 2 losses.

Unless there are multiple P5 champs with multiple losses, you're done. Sorry.

TCU or Oregon will be in before y’all imo. Why wouldn’t a playoff committee view a conference champion in higher regards than y’all?

Wouldn’t bet on it. It’s possible, but the we have a better resume than any 1 lose team in the country with the only lose is it the #1 team. It will all work itself out over next 4 weeks.

If LSU is fortunate to win out and finish 11-2 SEC Champions, they are likely to get in. In 2017, Auburn was a 10-2 team heading to the SEC title game and had they won the SEC Title, they would have been 11-2 and very, very, very, likely to have gotten into the CFP.

I see this years LSU team by comparison as being in a similar situation as Auburn 2017.

There were no one loss or less conference champs to put in over Bama, so they got the spot. UT would need a similar situation and need to hope they weren’t competing directly with UGA for the spot.

Oregon got beat by 46 at neutral site by UGA. I think they will not get in. And a lot of media members think so to.

TCU still has to possibly play Texas twice. Let’s see what the committee thinks tomorrow when new polls come out. UT will be #4 or #5.

If LSU wins out they will get in. UT needs UGA to win the SEC for them to get bid. That’s the worse thing for UT right now, is for UGA not to win the SEC.

2017 Bama had the talent advantage by a lot. Kirby did not have the players he wanted to fit his system. UGA did not get a top recruiting class until 2018. 2017, Kirby was coaching Mark Richt players. 2022, well...

You can and likely will get jumped by a 1 loss conf champ if you are 4 going into conf champ weekend. You’ll be home and top teams will play and provide more evidence to support their teams. Your case will look weaker after the games. It’s fair and how it should be. If there are no one loss conf champs, then it’ll be time to look at teams like UT. “The second tier” if you will…

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and speak for our entire fanbase. We could care less. The only thing that you guys offer us is something as close to a guaranteed win as is possible. That was documented and affirmed without a doubt Saturday, so go ahead and beat your war drums because you guys are all hat, no cattle. If you get in fine, if not fine.
