lulz at FR SO JR. how many starters are they returning on trenches?

Returning three starters... Waldrop is new (obviously, RS) and Patrick spot started last year, I think.

EDIT: We don't have much talented depth at tackle.

McCullers is almost 6'8", but regardless, he will be a beast this year.

I watched your spring game and he was down to 340 per the commentators and trying to lose more weight.

SC has potential. We've been putting in OL work for years, time to see some results.

What's UGA's OL look like? Is Theus living up to the recruit hype?

OT: Kenarious Gates 6-5 318 SR
OT: Xzavier Ward 6-7 293 RS SO
OG: Dallas Lee 6-4 300 SR
OG: Chris Burnette 6-2 322 SR
C: David Andrews 6-2 295 JR
TE: Arthur Lynch 6-5 258 SR

Theus is 6-6 309 backup to Xzavier Ward.

Rivals depth chart, same as the Carolina one on the OP

He will play at around 350.

4 on the oline. Everybody but Patrick has a redshirt year and Waldrop is the only first time starter

2 on the dline. Clowney and Quarles started last year. Sutton had 5 sacks as a backup. There's 3 guys around 300 pounds competing for the other DT spot.

On the dline? What are your coaches thinking. He'll get zero leverage. Did he always play dline and just sprouted up?

He was recruited to be a mountain in the middle of a 3-4 defense when he was almost 400 pounds, but now he is being coached to play lower and faster at a lean 350. I think he will do just fine.

That's just VERY tall for a dlineman.

Any UT fans in this thread care to take a run at a schedule prediction for me?

That doesn't mean much right now. I'm not saying he isn't good or won't be good. Just that it's odd to see a 6-8 dline. I believe you.

A lot of teams are going this route. Taylor from USCe was 6'8" last year.

Perhaps his height is an obstacle, but he has been working super hard this offseason to overcome it. The coaches are teaching him to play low to use leverage to complement his brute strength, and they are stressing aerobic conditioning to get more endurance.

It makes no sense. Dlineman are short and stocky to get leverage because low man wins. Olineman are tall to have long arms to keep dlineman's hands off of them. I guess it does affect passing lanes.
