Except…..Auburn wouldn’t have stopped the best offense in CFB history.

Auburn has 1 player. LSU had a team

Trying to defend Cam just wasn't fair.

Trying to defend Burrow, Jefferson and Chase also wasn't fair.

There probably wouldn't be a defensive stop in this hypothetical match up.

Please tell me in what world Zac Ethridge and Neiko Thorpe are going to be able to guard JaMarr Chase and Justin Jefferson?

And you can add Terrance Marshall to the mix also. And for good measure, Thad Moss.

While that may be true, that 2019 team was still better than any team the University of Alabama has ever fielded. 15-0, baby.

2019 LSU would fair better on defense than Auburn. With Stingley and Fulton shutting down any semblance of a passing game and Delpit moving closer to the line of scrimmage, Patrick Queen running sideline to sideline, Auburn and Cam would not be as effective. Also, Burrow would put up 40-50 on that Auburn defense with quick hit strikes.

Burrow would torch that AU secondary with Jefferson and Chase. Cam would keep it close though.

Comparing the offenses is a legitimate comparison and 2019 LSU likely comes out on top, but no QB has every done more with less around him than Newton.

Auburn wins against anyone with Cam Newton.

Burrow wouldnt have finished the game after Fairley dunked him on his head

Can you explain how Cam Newton stops Joe Burrow and that offense.

Every response from Auburn fans on this subject is how Fairley would single handedly stop the entire 2019 Joe Burrow led offense. That is delusional.

Burrow barely squeaked a win against Auburn in 2019 and you think he would have been able to handle Auburn's national championship team? talk about delusional

And if you think torching our defense would have led to an LSU win, let me fill you in on reality, every team torched our defense in the first half of games. the NFL WRs we faced in 2010 were just as talented as the bums you would have lined up against us. And you still would have lost. Auburn 2010 > LSU 2019. Its just the truth. No one was beating that Cam Newton led Auburn team. No one

Lol okay you dumb shite. I don't think so. LSU dominated most games and dominated Clemson and Oklahoma in playoffs. Auburn squeaked by too many games.

Auburn's national championship team

Barely squeaked by LSU at home.

Let's not forget it was just a one-score game, and tied in the 4th.

Low football IQ take.

AU had 440 yards on the ground in that game. Yeah, you’re not going to blow someone out when you can methodically bleed them on the ground.

You're delusional if you think Cam Newton would rush for over 200 yards against that LSU defense that played OU and Clemson without a semblance or threat of a passing game. So tell me the Auburn gameplan against 2019 LSU defense.

The game was decided on a 70 yard TD run by the rb with 5 minutes left in the game. LSU still had the ball with a chance to tie or take the lead at the end of the game. It was Auburn's defense that won the game for them by stopping LSU's last drive.

Yep, and LSU outgained Auburn in 2019 508 to 287 yards. The difference is that Auburn never had the ball in the 4th with a chance to tie or take the lead in 2019.

But I just noticed the post I replied to had this:

quote:

the NFL WRs we faced in 2010 were just as talented as the bums you would have lined up against us

Clearly a troll since "the bums" include Chase and Jefferson who were #1 and #2 in receiving yards for the NFL regular season.

But the 2010 game wasn't a blowout just as the 2019 game wasn't a blowout.

I don't know, but apparently you have. That video is of the 3rd quarter, and the score is tied at the start, and 17-10 after the play. The next three drives for Auburn were:
5 plays, 36 yards, fumble.
3 plays, 4 yards, punt
8 plays, 34 yards, punt.

LSU would tie the score at 17 all on a 39 yard HB option pass to Randle in the 4th quarter.

Auburn's next drive ended up turning it over on downs, giving the ball back to LSU. Auburn's D held, and the next drive Auburn took the lead, not on a Cam Newton play, but on a 70 yard run by the RB.

LSU got the ball back with a chance to tie or take the lead with 4:50 left in the game. It was Auburn's D that showed up again and stopped the Tigers.

The 2010 game was closer than the 2019 game.

2013 Auburn was better in my opinion than 2010. I think 2013 Auburn beats 2019 LSU because 2013 Auburn could score 60 points if needed. You need 60 to beat that 2019 LSU team.

2010 Auburn couldn’t score enough. While 2019 Auburn would’ve beaten LSU you if Auburn’s running back doesn’t step out of bounds untouched at the 5 yard line. 2019 LSU was a far superior team.
