i could add a few more that really pissed me off.
I am sure, but those are the biggest stand outs to me.

in 06 we should have been playing for a title
I agree.

also last year was terrible
I really only fault Miles for the DC promotions. I don't think the QB situation could have really been handled any better. I don't think he expected some of the inexperience to hurt so bad in the secondary. He had gotten some back ups playing time and they just couldn't make the jump last year. If you just go back and consider it a rebuilding year then it takes away a lot of the sting. In hindsight after we lost our game changer in RP our expectations should have dropped. It sucks too because the SEC sucked pretty bad as a whole last year.

even with lower expactations 5 losses isn't acceptable at LSU. we just have too much talent for that.
The dc thing is defiantly worse than the qbs. He put friends over LSU and he fricked the fans over by doing that.
the problem i have with the qb thing is not giving JJ snaps sooner esp when we saw lee struggle.
One thing i do like about miles is he seems to learn from mistakes. He got rid of his arse clown friends and hired a great d staff.

We lost a couple of close ones. I admit I don't like it, but all things considered I can get over it. I am excited about the coming season. I am thinking 10-2, hoping 11-1, and expecting no less than 9-3 for the regular season. I expect us to continue our tradition of beating down OOC teams during bowl season.

Because Samuel Jackson is fricking awesome.
On the LSU v. Utah thing it depends on injuries. 2008 Utah did not play nearly the slate LSU played last year. We did wear down and injuries piled up.
It just depends.

LSU lost to two unranked teams.
Lost both in tripple overtime. We were two plays away from being undefeated. It's not like we looked bad against bad teams. Both those teams had dynamic players at key postions. Ark had the best 1-2 punch in country at RB and Ken had an all conference QB. Those were not the average Ark or Ken teams.

I'll always remember 07 as the CFB season that could have been. Injuries really killed every CFB team that had a legitimate shot at the title. Early going down for as long as he did really hindered the offense for that stretch, but probably helped us in the long run as it forced byrd to step up. Against KY when Chevis went down our defense went fricking terrible. Than Dorsey went down and our entire defense went to shite. Pelini just didn't seem to adjust to a defense that couldn't create pressure from the front four alone.
OU lost Bradford for the Ttech game. USC dealt with a crap load of injuries all year, and Oregon doesn't even need to be mentioned. A NC is still a NC, so I'll always remember it for what it was, but I still wish we could have seen a Oregon-LSU NC game that year. It would have been epic. Oregon, before Dixon went down, was very, very good.

FWIW 06 LSU could decimate 08 Utah.

These crazy Bammers will say anything to justify a loss that shouldn't have happend.
It is hard for them to accept because their team got exposed and their coach was "outcoached"....

Umm really LSU fans I don't see the fuss about saying 2008 Utah was a good team. They were. It doesn't matter that they played in the Mountain west, they were still a good team. If the 49ers with Rice and Montana played in the sun belt would they still be a good team? I'd say so maybe you disagree. Year in year out LSU fields the better unit sure, they have a deeper talent pool for sure, but that doesn't mean Utah won't field a legitimately good team once every 5 years.
In terms of head to head between LSU and the Utes I think Utah would actually win that game 5/10 times. They ran a very similar system offensively in 08 to what UF ran in 07 and UF almost won that game against LSU in Tiger Stadium. If UF had fielded ANY kind of defense they would have beaten LSU handily in their own back yard. You can say Tebow this Tebow that all you want, but our offense had you beaten, it was our defense that lost the game. Utah in 08 had a good defense and ran a similar offensive scheme. Match up wise, they would have been a very tough opponent.
Don't get me wrong I'm not saying that it would be a blow out 5/10 is 50% meaning essentially the game would be a toss up. You just have to get out of the narrow mindedness that a lot of SEC fans have that the ONLY good football comes out of the south. Year in year out the overall BEST football may come from the south, but that by no means precludes a team from outside the south being a good team.
All of this assumes that the Utes could match their intensity of their bowl game. Obviously if they came out flat against a team, they would likely lose. But that is true of any team. If they would have played UF last year the way they played Bama, I think they could have given us a very good game. They were on fire that night, whether it was a fluke or not they showed they COULD play with pretty much anyone.
Also, using Oregon as an example of a bad team is silly. In 07 had Dixon not gotten hurt they would have been in the national title game and Dixon would have won the heisman. When he got hurt they had to start some terrible QBS and it cost them 3 games in a row.
All In all I would say Boise State, Utah, and possibly TCU have proven themselves to be very stiff mid majors, who could join any major BCS conference and compete. I'm not saying they would win these conferences or even come close to winning, but I think you are an idiot if you think they couldn't beat the likes of Arkansas or UK or Ole Miss, or any other perennial Mid level team in one of the major conferences. TCU could certainly have competed for the big 12 north last year. They gave OU its best game besides UF and Texas. And those perennial mid level teams, DO beat the best teams in their conference, as was shown in 07 against LSU or in 08 against UF. It happens. So stop getting your panties in a wad and recognize a good team LSU fans.
