This wouldn’t a discussion if we just all agreed the committee would follow the exact formula the BCS did. Pretty sure that was the whole point. 2001 was the only major black eye for the BCS. Maybe LSU/Bama rematch as well. 2004 sucked for Auburn but wasn’t necessarily controversial.

Also, our football coach and AD have a long term working relationship and our coach is on his second year. A coaching search in the next 2-3 years is very unlikely.

All that matters is that there were no less than 4 teams that had a better argument than a team that couldnt beat 2001 UGA.

Kentucky only beats Tennessee in football when our head coach isn’t a lame duck dead man walking where half the Tennessee fanbase was cheering for a loss just to get rid of the coach. They’ve never defeated us in a football game that truly mattered to us. When we beat them again this fall Tennessee will go to 27-3 against Kentucky in my lifetime.
Recently we even beat them in basketball more often than not. I’d hate Tennessee too if I was ‘Tucky fan
