Gafford and Garland already declared and Washington, Johnson, Herro and Porter seem to be strongly leaning towards it.

SEC picture next year will be heavily influenced by the Williams, Okeke and Reid decisions.

Odd not to see Q in here somewhere. Know he isn’t amazing but the potential is there

He's been in the mid/lower end of the 2nd round in most of the mocks I've seen.

Sat next to Eddie Oran on a flight to Knoxville recently. He is one of the Nets college scouts and also the color guy for Texas basketball on the radio. Very close with Barnes obviously from all the years in Texas. (He is also Cutcliffe's brother in law strangely enough so has family in Knoxville)

Said the Nets have had him in Knoxville a lot this winter watching Williams, Schofield, Bone and Bowden. Seemed to like Schofield and Bone more than Williams but said Barnes doesn't think Bone will come out. Said he thinks Williams is a reach in the first round but winning teams may take a flyer on him end of first because of the makeup and productivity. Seemed to think it is 50/50 on whether he comes out.

ETA: Also said Barnes told him Josiah James is a better prospect than any player on the roster and could be one and done if he gets it right away and they can smooth out the release on his jump shot

I've seen Anfernee McLemore & Aric Holman in the 2nd round on quite a few mocks too.

I'll never understand NBA talent evaluators.

How does Timmy Bowers never even sniff the league when a player like Alex Caruso has spent 2 years on the Lakers?

Lmao at Grant Williams being drafted that high. Also Gafford should be way higher.

Pretty sure Naz is gone. I would also be surprised if he lasts until the 47th pick...I have a feeling NBA scouts/coaches will be more likely than mock drafters to overlook the uneven play in favor of his upside.

You think Williams comes out for the draft? He seems like a guy who would come back for his senior year.

Q is a good college player. He would be awful in the NBA. I think Lamar Peters could make it as a backup ball handler and facilitator, like a poor man’s Avery Johnson.

Had similar questions. He told me one week he was in Austin on Tuesday night to call Texas/Kansas, Wednesday went to LSU/A&M in College Station, Thursday Houston/Temple, Saturday Ames for Texas/Iowa State early in the afternoon then flew back with team and drove to Tennessee/A&M that night in College Station. Then had a flight out of Houston to go to Knoxville for Tennessee practice on Sunday and Monday then Tennessee/Mizzou game on Tuesday night. Back to Austin for Texas/Baylor on Wednesday and then was spending Thursday through the next Monday around the Carolinas with a drive to Morgantown for Texas/WV on Saturday in between.

Wow - that's nuts. Pretty impressive how much he must love the game, because while they aren't fast food jobs neither of those jobs pays big bucks. Very cool.

Here is the Updated Mock Draft (from yesterday) from The Athletic, which is my preferred draft outlet. Veccenie seems to be the most plugged in imo.

7. Memphis Grizzlies — Darius Garland, Vanderbilt
12. Los Angeles Lakers —Keldon Johnson, Kentucky
19. Utah Jazz — PJ Washington, Kentucky
20. San Antonio Spurs — Jontay Porter, Missouri
21. Boston Celtics — Tyler Herro, Kentucky
25. Indiana Pacers — Grant Williams, Tennessee
27. Brooklyn Nets (from DEN) — Daniel Gafford, Arkansas
38. Charlotte Hornets (from WAS) — Admiral Schofield, Tennessee
52. Charlotte Hornets (from OKC) — Naz Reid, LSU

Agree - except he doesn't have the Hawks in their rightful #1 spot.

Okeke
Has the potential to be a back end lottery pick if he comes back. Will be an interesting decision.
