He did play 39. We really need to develop a 2nd ball handler or we won't go anywhere in the tourney. One game Pressey gets in foul trouble and we're screwed. Brown was 2nd in minutes with 35.

Really shortened the bench today. NWC barely played. Janko and the others not at all. Bell only had 11 minutes.

Really wanted to see Janko tonight. Not at all.

Maybe I'll get to see him at Pauley.

I think Jank matches up better against UCLA.

Not as many perimeter scorers. He'll see some time.

Love this game. Braggin Rights intensity is always so special. Really respect the Illinois kids' second half grit. Very good win.

We need to give up on NWC being a point. Not going to happen. Doesn't have that type of game.

NWC will be fine at backup point vs over half the SEC teams. Not great but fine. The high level backcourts in country like Louisville and Illinois will force Pressey to play almost all game, but such back courts are rare.

He's still not and never will be a point. Him doing fine against 1/2 the SEC teams is true. But it would probably be true if I said Oriakhi would do fine against 1/2 the SEC at point too. What we need to be concerned about is the tourney and what we do against nothing but good teams then if Pressey gets in foul trouble.

Well, no shite. Thats why losing Mike Dixon was a big blow. We did have arguably the best point guard combo in the country and certainly the most depth there. We don't now. If anything I've been stunned that NWC, a 6'7" non-true point guard true freshman, has been able to do as much for us in that role as he has. It's an achilles heel, but if you are gonna be weak at backup at one spot, its nice to have your starter be one of the best in the country at that spot. And thats what we have.

Plus, there is depth at every other position. We didn't have that last year. At all. Just 7 guys. We were arguably more screwed last year if Ricardo got in foul trouble than we are this year if Flip does.
