Clemson tries it again from their bullpen...Moorefield coming in....has a 6.48 ERA in 8.1 innings. This will be a situational matchup....

It's a rivalry game foo. In the postseason. Anything goes. Sit back and enjoy some baseball. We've repped enough the past two years. Hope we continue, but sheesh.

Guy coming in has given up 13 hits in 8.1 innings pitched. Looks like USC will come out of this inning tied or better.

I guess we're lucky it wasn't a dbl-play...Dantzler pops a weak one over the pitcher's head. He nabs it for the 1st out....

Also, according to taco bell, catching a foul ball is hero status.

It would have been a close play, and there would have been a decent chance it goes into right field.

I never trust pitchers to make overhand throws to any base that isn't a pickoff attempt.

Not true. Baserunner has the baseline.

Not true, a runner can't intentionally interfere with a fielder making a throw or trying to field aany batted ball (even if unintentional) whether in the baseline or not. It is up to umpire whether it was intentional, but not sliding or trying to get out of the way on a DP will be ruled intentional 99% of the time. Once a fielder avoids contact he has eliminated the chance to have interference called.

3.        Making contact with the fielder as he attempts a throw (except during a legal slide. A legal slide is one in which the runner slides into the base within reach of an arm or foot and touches the ground before reaching the base)

I've been involved several times when interference was called and the runner was in the baseline between first and second. This is the reason Middle infielders are taught to throw the ball at the runners head if they don't slide.

Not talking about him hitting the fielder, we are talking about the fielder throwing the ball through the runners face.
