Who wild they leave out though?

A big 10 winner? Sec champ? Clemson?

Only team that they conceivably leave out is Notre Dame, but you have one problem.

Notre Dame is beloved by the media more than Bama is lol.

So if BAMA somehow loses to MSU or auburn, then wins the SEC, they won't make the playoffs? Are you really that stupid?

Yeah. 1 loss Alabama that beats UGA for the SEC championship would definitely be in the playoff.

The scenario where Clemson, ND and Michigan win out and Bama loses to UGA in the SEC CG is the only one where Alabama faces a significant possibility of not making it in.

Still, the decision would be tight if that UGA loss is a last play type classic like last year's NC game of the last SEC CG between UGA and Bama (especially if Bama's loss involved Tua being injured and Alabama beats Miss St and Auburn soundly).

All that said, the chance there's more upsets is much higher than every top 5 team winning out until UGA v Bama.

12-1 Bama who loses the SEC Championship Game to Georgia still has a 69% chance to make the playoffs according to the metrics ESPN uses. Like I said, it is going to be hard to drop a #1 Bama who has been so dominant (if that continues against State and Auburn) all the way to #5 if it is a close game with Georgia.

Remember the Playoff committee is supposed to put in the 4 best teams regardless of conference championships etc.
