This is the famous Hoover High School who used to be a top 5 national program in football until Thompson started recruited the entire country.
Wild man Rush Propst coached there.
Hoover boys are ranked #6 nationally and have won 3 titles in a row.
Their girls have now won 5 in a row and are normally nationally ranked.
Brown was MVP of the boys tournament.
They have the combined best basketball program in the country.

Went to Tupelo High School lived in Homewood in the early 2000's went to some Hoover games then.

The Huntsville metro is still the best basketball in the state imo and has been for years. Hoover is obviously a solid program, but Huntsville>Birmingham in basketball on a year in year out basis as a whole.
I remember playing in state tournaments when I was a kid for our YMCA all star team. The teams out of Huntsville would all be a head taller than us and would just beat our eyes out. We could play with the kids from Montgomery and Birmingham though

The best player in the state transferred from Buckhorn (NE of Huntsville) after last season to somewhere in Georgia. The football up here blows though.
