Marshall is really taking his sweet time.
Seems like it, but it really hasn't been that long. It's just that everyone is talking about every detail non-stop so it seems longer. He just coached a game in the tournament 4 days ago and just met/interviewed yesterday. Most people take longer than this to make big career decisions.

Marshall clearly doesn't seem to understand my need to know whether this is happening.
And why is Battle back home? I thought we told him not to come back without Marshall. Tell him if we don't have an answer by noon, we expect him to drive his arse back to Kansas and get this done.

Ole Miss was ranked number 3 at one point last season. As the playoff system expands (if it expands) I see no reason that Ole Miss can't win a championship in football..

This Marshall thing has really changed Bama fans. Now they think it is perfectly acceptable to think Ole Miss and Miss St are championship caliber programs. If we would have started that thread two weeks ago it would have been unreal
We're just being open minded. Hell, if Nick Saban ever leaves Alabama, even LSU might win another title.

Basketball is entirely different than football. Any power 5 conference school can win a national title with the right coach. Convince 5 good players to play for you and anything is possible. See Florida in 06 and 07. They had no major tradition, average facilities and fan support, but a great coach who had 5 good players.

Alabama was a historical power in football. That's Apple's to tricycles

It's a relative argument. He won't have to h ave a 1 loss season at bama to replicate his success. Look at his tournament success for his overall success. Bamas team this year could.win a ton of games in his conference. It's a matter of Perspective really

Expand your search just a little. How many different teams have made the Final Four? I'd bet that expands the number greatly.

Cool stat. I did not know that. Anyways, my point still stands that I think it is easier for an Alabama, AU, LSU, etc to win a basketball title than for an Iowa St, Vandy, Northwestern, etc to win a football title. It's easier to convince 5 good starters to come to a school than 22 good starters. Plus, basketball recruits tend to flock to coaches just as much or more than programs. Take Bob Huggins for example. He has had great talent at Cincinnati, KSU, and WVU, none of which were basketball powerhouses before him.

I would think the only thing that would lengthen the process would be Marshall waiting on a Witchita State counter offer that he really wants to take or Marshall waiting on a better blue blood job to open.
Simple coaching decisions happen quickly.

BYU won a football title. Bama will win multiple titles in basketball...wait, what was the question?

Blame their field goal kickers and not the fans.
