One sports television source not directly affiliated with the SEC or the deal estimates an eventual worth of around $400 million per year in SEC television revenue from ESPN and CBS (which pays $55 million per year). That'd be $28.5 million per team before factoring in bowl game earnings or NCAA credits.

Who are you? The Major Domo of expecting shite? Who cares. If each team gets $1.00 its $1.00 more than if we didn't have it.

Would a stipend to athletes on revenue producing teams be too much to ask, or is this the 'slippery slope'? Are we already on the slippery slope and just not honest about it (specifically referencing the NCAA and the powers that be)? Is a full ride (say 20K a year) sufficient compensation? Is MaryAnn not much much hotter than Ginger?

I'm hoping for ~$37.5 million, or somewhere in that range.

It appears this $$ figure is ONLY for tier 1 and tier 2 rights. After all, money from a SECnetwork certainly would not come from CBS -- nor would it come from ESPN(although the profits would be shared with ESPN)...
There is no way they could estimate the network's worth without knowing the distribution plans or prices yet. If Machen thinks it will be in 30 million homes in the south, that's $30 mil/month and $360 mil/yr just in the SECnetwork(before looking at additional money from around the country). That shows the initial figure to be bogus in and of itself if it is trying to determine total $$ distribution...

I thought it would be a little higher too. But remember that this is just a starting point. I expect this to rise exponentially.

I remember yesterday you were saying 27-30M on tier 1/tier 2 revenue.
