Grinders,

Life long Bama fan and graduated last December. I moved west to Starkville this January to get my Masters of Science at MSU. Requested access to this board to talk some State baseball and figure out the ins and outs of Starkville.

I haven't gone out yet, but I look forward to hitting some bars. I live right near the Cotton District, next to the BP on University. So I'm down the street from the bars, but just haven't met anyone to hit the bars yet and I've been out of town or back in Tuscaloosa on the weekends. Plus I have no clues which one to go to.

Hung out at the baseball game for an hourish today. Walked around the outfield area and I must say, that's bad arse. Blown away by the stadium and atmosphere. Can only imagine weekend games when SEC play starts.

Anyways, glad to be able to post on here.

Hail State! (And Roll Tide!)

You already live in a nice spot. Good place to walk from bar to bar. The Bin or Bin612 is probably the most popular bar in that area. It usually has a good crowd on Thurs-Sat. It's small, so it gets pretty annoying at times. I'm not really sure what type of person you are, so I'm not sure on what bar scene you would be interested in.

Do yourself a favor and go get lunch at Restaurant Tyler one day this week. It is located downtown.

If you are at the game this weekend, several posters from here will be in the outfield. You should come get a few brews with us.

Just become a regular in the district and you will meet so many people so fast. Really laid back and great area. And welcome!

I'll definitely come by for a few beers. Will need some after a busy week and a test.

I'm pretty easy to please as far as bars go. I can go to the hot spot and deal with crowds or I can go somewhere more relaxed and sit at a table and shoot the shite all night long. Drink specials always help my bar preferences. I have fun wherever.

I'll try out Restaurant Tyler sometime soon. Have ate a few places around town. Love Little Dooey. Ate there a handful of times. Strombolis crust on their pizza was pretty damn good. Central Station Grill was good too. Good date spot when my girlfriend came over from Tuscaloosa.

Wednesdays go downtown to Old Venice for 3 for 1 drinks, or if there is a good crowd in the cotton district go there usually Drifters or Rock bottom have good deals. Thursday go to Zorbas for ladies night, lots of talent always there.

Weekends cotton district is always good, check for popular bands playing at Ricks or Cowbells.

I have a friend that live on South Nash across from that gas station and I'll be living there next year. We have fires and drink beer there sometimes so if you notice a black z71 4 door on the street feel free to walk over and hang out if we're outside.

Monday nights - 1 dollar margaritas at the Bin starting at 9pm
Tuesday nights - 2 for 1 at Ricks, I think 12 dollars all you can drink at either Drifters or Rock Bottom
Wednesday night - 3 for 1 at Old Venice, i think 2 for 1 at drifters/rock bottom. 2 for 1 Ricks karaoke night
Thursday - ladies night at zorbas, 5 dollars all you can drink pitchers of beer at cowbells.
Not any specials on Friday that I know of
Saturday - dollar night at Ricks

All bars well liquors are about 3 dollars without a special. Beer runs from 2 to 4 dollars depending on what kind. (high gravity are more expensive). Starkville is the cheapest SEC town to drink in

Welcome bro.

Don't go to Ricks or Cowbells or the Hunt Club. Starkville is extremely charming, but those bars blow.

I miss Mugshots being a bar and I miss smoking cigs inside of Dave's.

I'm across from the BP. Afraid I don't go out as much as I'd like to but you will enjoy your location. I haven't had to even think about driving to a bar in 2 years. Walking under the influence does wonders for blood pressure

Location was a big part to where I lived and I got a great deal from subleasing from someone. Quick drive to campus, easy drive to North Farm for research, and close to bars. Walking home makes all the difference for a good night. No worries or arguments about who's driving.

Sounds like I need to check out the Bin for sure. I see a ton of people out on the patio drinking all the time. Sounds like a bar called Innisfree in Tuscaloosa. I'm pumped out the drink specials. They sound like they kick Tuscaloosas arse. Nice to go out and not break the bank.

Young frat dudes would try to beat me up if I bebopped on over to the trailer.

I would've done the exact same thing at that age.
