Made in Texas Supressors

I've never owned a suppressor due to the NFA tax and long waiting periods. Not to get political, but a new law in Texas by passes all of this and makes a suppressor just like any other gun part. Catch is suppressor has to be stamped "made in Texas" and can't leave the state.

With that said, anyone know what (reputable) brands are made in Texas?

Google Jeremy Kettler and see how that works out. Kansas had the same law and that dude got federally fricked.

Capital Armory

The important aspect of the last sentence is “per Texas law.” Dealers are regulated by federal law, as is the National Firearms Act. Simply put, even though certain criteria may allow an unregistered silencer to be legal according to the great state of Texas, it is still a federal felony that carries a 10 year prison sentence and a heavy fine. Kansas enacted a similar law, and unfortunately the first of those to test it were prosecuted by the ATF.

Will be interesting to see what unfolds with this going forward. Sanctuary cities that house, support and welcome illegals also violate federal law but there has been zero prosecution on that front.

HB 597 into law which states in part, "A firearm suppressor that is manufactured in this state and remains in this state is not subject to federal law or federal regulation, including registration, under the authority of the United States Congress to regulate interstate commerce."

And none of those are what the federal government considers “dangerous”.

I'll have to reread the law, but I thought they changed the language to get around Kansas' issue.

Which is the whole problem. Because a political official "considers" something dangerous they will enforce the law but because they don't consider it dangerous they won't enforce the law.

In actuality, illegal immigration is costing way more in lives, time and money than people getting killed by suppressed weapons.

Like I said, it will be interesting to see where things go from here and I hope there are challenges all across the US.

One thing for sure, we need to vote out those politicians who stand against us on these issues, whether they be Democrat, Independent or Republican.

It is a feel good law that doesn't do shite. No reputable company is going to put their FEDERAL licenses on the line to sell suppressors in Texas. Making an effective one is pretty easy if you have some brain cells to rub together, making an effective one that is small and durable like modern cans takes a little more work.

Look up shooting through a pillow. There are videos... its movie quiet on a pistol and probably the best SHTF solution

It is not a feel good law when a state law enforcement agent no longer cares about your tax stamps.

Nice my buddy in Alaska was telling me about something similar in Alaska. I may be completely off but he was telling me about this law they have and him like building a suppressor or something?? think they buy builder suppressor kits or something. Kind of like a 80% they just trill out the caps, baffles and tapthe end or something like that. amd they are good to go? I probably have it wrong but I def remember him telling me about the made in alaska deal for firearms and suppressors and laws protecting the citizen's from fed confiscation. Very bad arse and I hope more states begin adopting these laws

States that legalize weed right now are doing the same thing.

It’s still a federal offense.
