re: Pen and Paper Strength App

Yesterday was my rest/cardio day. I did my typical walk to the gym, stationary bike, incline treadmill, sauna, and walk back home. My biking pace is 5 miles in 30 min. When I hit 6 miles in 30 min, I bump up the resistance level. Yesterday I was pushing to hit that 6 mile goal and got a massive ...

Anyone who's run Benchamin Franklin 2, what rep/set scheme did you use for cardio starting Day 19? Seems Aaron forgot (or decided not) to include that detail in the plan. Edit: Reached out to Aaron on IG and he sent me the updated screenshots. I bought this one not long after it came out and t...

Benchamin Franklin 2 - Day 18 Today was the high volume day in the rotation and it did not disappoint. Hit everything as expected with generally decent form. The first SS of bench and bent rows took right at 45 min (with 90s rests); 15 sets does NOT go quick. The bent rows (like last time)...

Did the exact same thing in Canada a few years ago. Driving up the west coast watching the scenery and just completely lost track of my speed....

We're flying Delta and KLM. I'll see if they offer rentals and what the cost may be. I have some decent Delta credits from a price change already. Thanks for the link and info on the vignette. I knew that was needed in some locations but was getting conflicting information when looking at the ...

Thanks, I'll check my cards and see if any of them offer this benefit. Thanks for the heads up on the IDP. Looks like Austria is the only county on our list where this is a requirement. I found a AAA about 15 miles away. I'll get that taken care of before we leave....

Yep, standard isn't an issue as I'm used to them. We're not staying in Amsterdam. Just using it or Brussels as the airport for that portion of the trip (depending on airfare/rental prices). We will be spending several days in the general area (Amsterdam, Brussels, Bruges, Hague, etc) and stayin...

Thanks for the info. I'm leaning towards the extra $100 or so for piece of mind also. Glad to hear I-10 is a more stressful drive than Munich and Austria....

Car rental in Europe

Posted by Tiger_n_Texas on 4/15/24 at 1:08 pm
Heading to Europe in a few weeks and I was wondering if anyone had any do/don't/suggestions when renting a car. I'll be needing 2 separate rentals and (based on the research I've already done) plan on returning the cars back to the same originating city/country to avoid the surcharges. Plan is t...

Benchamin Franklin 2 - Day 17 Much better workout today. Hit everything as expected. It was odd today that close grip bench felt better than traditional bench presses. The only thing I consider a miss today was the last set of behine the back wrist curls. I just couldn't hit all 25 reps. For...

Benchamin Franklin 2 - Day 16 The big 3 today were tough. I've been in a pretty decent calorie deficit the last couple weeks and I think it's starting to catch up to me. I actually went to my knees and let the safety arms catch the bar on the last squat rep. Core broke down and I knew I lost i...

Benchamin Franklin 2 - Day 15 Solid day. The bench/bent row superset felt it would never end. Bench was nice and smooth the entire time. Rows started off a little rough. Once I locked in position more and got better bracing, they too felt better the deeper I went. I went heavier on the lat r...

Benchamin Franklin 2 - Day 14 I mentioned before that I'm running this as 3 lift days then 1 cardio day. Day 2 in this pattern so far has been on the lighter side in both volume and weight. It is sandwiched between day 1 (heavy squat, bench, and deadlift) and day 3 (high volume bench and bent r...

I'd imagine using your weighted vest/backpack could help on the lunges and goblet squats. I know its not EXACTLY the same as having heavy weights in your hands, but it would add to the total weight your legs are having to move. Also could you incorporate resistance bands into your presses? You'...

Benchamin Franklin 2 - Day 13 This one packed a punch. Squats and bench were both decently heavy but moved well. Deadlifts on the other hand got intense. Those last 3 sets of 5 at 77% were no joke. The rest of the workout when as planned. Plan on trying to get as much solid rest tonight as p...
To get this thread back on topic some, I wanted to add my experience after 1 week on Ozempic. The 'food noise' that several have referenced is real and for me this medication eliminated that within 24hrs. I took my first dose last Wednesday, and on Thursday (and several days since) I had to make...

I'll echo Swole above. I've read many of your posts in various threads. You are very knowledgeable in many aspects of health and fitness. However, your absolute stubbornness regarding any sort of grey area on this topic makes your posts useless as they are completely biased....
