Does anyone on here hunt in the area of Foxworth?

Used to hunt on some family land right outside of Columbia (it was on the east side of the Pearl). Nothing big as far as horns, but always killed several deer there every year to fill the freezer. Then I hunted big boys at our dedicated hunting camps/land.

Looking at buying some property, and was just trying to get the lay of the land?
Deer Numbers?
Deer Size?
anything to watch out for or stay away from?
any other info I should know.
I may be looking from some dozer/bush hog work done.
thanks for any info you can provide

Neighbors are EVERYTHING! It would be a good idea to talk to them and see if any of them are problem a-holes.

know PLENTY of people that can do dozier work. If any way possible, purchase land on the pearl river. Will be your best hunting. but most expensive. Not sure what are you are looking at, but ive been here my whole life, so if you have any particular area let me know and if i dont know first hand, i can find out in 30mins if its worth hunting

I have a place not too far away, in Jayess , probably 30 minutes or so. There are deer around but they are not overpopulated like they are around the river. It is decent pinewoods hunting, there are a few big bucks around , you will see the bucks during the day in bow season and maybe the first week of the season, then they go nocturnal until the rut (between Christmas and first week of the year). Lots of turkey. We love our place , but deer hunting is probably about number 10 on our list of priorities. If you are looking for a prime deer place, might want to keep looking, if you are looking for a place to have fun and enjoy while also having some deer to hunt you are looking at the right area
Plenty of people that will do dozer work, but if you are buying a place you will be getting a tractor and. Doing your own bush hogging

thanks guys, we have a deal signed and I close when I get back in the country. This will be a get away 1st, the deer hunting will be 2nd.
My dad and I are buying this to have a close place to go. Hope to put 4 or 5 stands and the hunting will be more for my kids
Its only 2hr drive from home so I plan on spending a lot of time there.
And I do plan on buying tractor, I just may need some front in work doing before we make that purchase

What part of (foxworth) are you getting land. What community or general area. If you have anymore questions or need contact info for any work done, email me black_lab_bird_dog@yahoo

I was wondering if this was you, or if you missed on the property. Congratulations!

Plenty of deer. You won’t likely kill trophies there, but you will kill deer.

Agreed on all counts. I grew up around there and spent a lot of time hunting deer in Foxworth. Not an area where you’re going to kill giants, but we pretty consistently killed deer. Also, we always had turkeys and wood ducks.
