You can buy mountain house freeze dried meals at cabelas and on line , they actually have some that are pretty decent and only need 2 cups of boiling water

but for an over night trip in November you have lots of options

Have each kid premake a foil dinner (meat and veggies seasonings and a slab of butter , wrap it in a foil pouch, freeze and then put in a zip lock and throw in pack, by dinner time it will be partially defrosted, take out of the zip lock and throw in the hot coals

Freeze some hot dogs or sausage links and cook em on a stick over the fire

I carry it with me all the time at the camp, very small and fits in pocket well and is deadly on snakes and other critters

ehh, it is certainly not good as the sole source of nutrition, but ~7% protein and full of carbs for energy especially in the cold months that ultimately turn to fat when not used for quick energy it is not a bad supplement especially in addition to a good food plot

okay, I have an unpopular opinion, but Manda is not bad, and pretty decent for being the cheapest in the case, is it homemade old school smoked sausage, no, but for ~$4/lb grilled and sliced or on a hot dog bun it is pretty good

With that being said I did have some this weekend and noticed the 3 pound boxes now have 3 one pound links that are individually vacuum sealed which is a plus, the negative I noticed is the links are much bigger around which makes it difficult for a poboy without slicing long ways, but I still like the product :doublebird:

Wild ones are about done this year, my cultivated ones are on thier last week or so, peaked last weekend and this weekend, so far we have picked 20 gallons, hoping for another 5 or so
