So question.

If we are destined and for sure gonna go 6-6 or 7-5, who are our auto losses?

I believe the only game that is ridiculous to expect a win in is Bama.

All 11 other games I am going to be heading into that week expecting a win for that individual game.

Now again I'm not calling for 11-1. I know we will drop other games. But the fact still remains that Bama is the only other auto loss. I don't think that we drop 5 other games. I just don't. And if we do well shite. I won't be pissed and calling for Freezes head, but I will feel like we missed some chances on games we prolly should have won.

Some of you seem so certain we are going to lose X Amount of games that it seems like y'all would rather us lose those games then actually win them just so y'all can say told you so.

I'd be disappointed with 6 wins, satisfied with 7, happy with 8. Any more than 8 would be a great season, IMO.

I agree

expect all you want, but expecting wins doesn't solve depth issues and a lack of overall talent in comparison to LSU, Bama and A&M. Also If the game is close in the 4th qtr against a team with a pulse this team hasn't proven it can handle that pressure and close out yet.

Don't be a fricking idiot. Every person in this thread who you disagree with prays to fricking God that we are wrong. We know this team has the POTENTIAL to win 10 games this year. The fact is that it is still an incredibly young team with little depth in the toughest division in the toughest conference in football. So many things have to go right and we are just being objective about the situation.

6-6 would absolutely be a disappointment, barring an inordinate amount of injuries. How do you sell to recruits that you're building a contender after putting up another 6-6? You can't. If that happens, and it's not because of injuries to Wallace, Moncrief, Morris, CJ, etc, recruiting momentum dies. They need to keep the momentum up if there is ever any chance of consistently being higher than 5th or 6th in the West. 7-5 at least keeps things moving in the right direction, 6-6 puts a cap on the potential of the program, IMO.

I still contended the quality of the 6-6 makes a big difference.

If we go 6-6 because we only beat Arky, Miz, SEMO, Troy, Auburn, and Idaho... that would be a bad season IMO.

Precisely. NOTHING would make me happier than for us to win all 12 games, the SECCG and the MNC.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOTHING.

But this thread is about what you would feel if we only won 6 games, not projecting total wins and losses. Some people say it's based on HOW we lose the other 6 games, which is completely fair.

But anyone who says "I'm going to be pissed is we win less than 8 games" is an arse clown and needs some perspective.

OM fans need to be talking about expecting 6 wins, a bowl win AND seeing a better product on the field. If we truly play better football, but just get handed tough losses by more talented teams in the SECW (or UTx), so be it.

If we win 7 or 8 regular season, that's just some sweet arse bonus time and we'll thank Freezus and attempt to logically project our 2014 expectations. If we win 9 or more, let's all get nekkid and start passing around the molly, condoms and lube because frick 2014, shite just got REAL IN 2013, BITCHES!!!!!

I am not so much concerned with our record as I am with being competitive. My biggest goal for the year is that I do not want to lose a single game by more than 14 points. If we play every opponent tough, I will be slightly disappointed with 6-6 and happy with 7-5.

Nothing is worse than walking into a stadium just knowing you are gonna get crushed, aka LSU in 2011.

PS: all bullshite aside, please God let us beat Vanderbilt.

Disturbing stat... We play 4 teams who are coming off of their bye week... Tied for the most in the country... That is gonna be the stat that costs Bama and/or OSU a national title this season... Ole Miss, Florida, Alabama, Ohio St, Iowa, TX Tech, Clemson, Fla State and Cincinatti all play 4 games after their opponent has had the previous week off... Before anyone accuses me of gloom and doom just know that I'm stating a fact.

7-5 with victories over Vandy and MSU has been my water mark pretty much the entire offseason... But what if we drop one more game ? Say at home to Mizzou... Or in Starkville on Thanksgiving night ? Would a 3-5 SEC record with victories over only Arky, Vanderbilt and one moe team be a step backwards ? That's a 1-3 conference record in VHS... Makes me kinda angry to type that... At 6-6 we'd be spending New Year's here in Memphis or over in Nashville for our bowl game... Opinions ?

I want to thank everyone for allowing me to post here and this is my first post.

Here's my prediction:

at Vanderbilt: W
Very important game and Freeze knows it. I do believe Ole Miss wins.
Southeast Missouri: W
at Texas: L
...but will be much closer than last year.
at Alabama: L
at Auburn: W
Auburn will be much improved but will lose.
Texas A&M: ?
...could go either way
LSU: ?
...could go either way
Idaho: W
Arkansas: W
...we'll be much improved but Ole Miss wins
Troy: W
Missouri: W
at Mississippi State: W
...going to be very close

Ole Miss just might win one more...either LSU or A&M.

That's 8-9 wins and I haven't had a drop of Kool-Aid.

Would be extremely disappointed. There is no reason we should lose to Mizzou, MSU, Arky, Auburn or LSU. I could see us losing to Vandy, but not those other 5. We lose two, Bama and AM(unless Manziel just goes into meltdown mode this year). Honestly, any of the top 4 teams can win the West. There is no powerhouse this year. Bama lost a lot...maybe their young guys will have growing pains, like Calipari's team did this year at UK.

IMO there are 6 games that I think could go either way:
Vandy
Texas
A&M
LSU
Auburn (call me crazy but I think this could be a classic trap game)
State (I think we will win it but you never know with this rivalry.)

IMO we will have the better team in 3 of those games: Vandy, Auburn, and State. LSU and A&M are both in Oxford and I just feel we will split those, more likely beating LSU.

So, if we come out of that stretch 4-2, which very well could happen, I think it will be a hell of a success depending on the lack of depth and in some places talent on our team. You throw in games like SEMO, Troy, Mizzou (who we can't overlook), and Idaho I think that puts us at 8 wins. If we were to lose to LSU, which is also very possible we'd be at 7-5. Either would be a hell of a season and I'd be happy with both 8-4 and 7-5.

+1

We just have that look of a team that has a puncher's chance every week. However, we have depth issues and are a few injuries away from having a team capable of losing several swing games.

7-5/8-4 seems perfect for this team. Injury-free and luck on our side, 9-3 seems like a possibility.
