If our 6 losses are TAMU, LSU, Bama, TX, MSU, and Vandy that means we didn't pull off any rivalry wins or upsets against power teams.
In that scenario I'd be kinda pissed.

No not at all. We can be 6-6 and still be a much improved team poised to make some serious noise in '14. I would like to think we will win 7 games but as long as we win 6 i'll be happy.
-at Vanderbilt
-SE Missouri St.
-at Texas
-at Alabama
-at Auburn
-Texas A&M
-LSU
-Idaho
-Arkansas
-Troy
-Missouri
-at Miss. State
Wins- Missouri St, Idaho, Troy
Losses- Bama
Toss ups- Vanderbilt, Texas, Auburn, A&M, LSU, Ark, Mizzou, State
We'll be favored in maybe 3 of those toss-up games? How do you guys see any of those games being 'sure' wins for us?
Vanderbilt, in Nashville, has beat us 6 of last 8. I think we will win but i wouldnt say i'm 100% confident.
at Texas- We wont be favored. I really do think we pull off the upset and beat Texas. I got my tickets yesterday, so i'm pumped up about it.
at Auburn- Why is this a sure win? The game last year was a close game with 5 minutes left. Jeff Scott rolling over the guy sealed the deal but before that it was still in question. They have recruited at a very high level for years, they have athletes on that team, they just didnt have a competent staff or team. We all have seen 1st year turn-arounds and Auburn could be the next example. They have athletes.... Also its at Jordan-Hare
A&M- if they come out firing, we wont be favored. we'll need to catch some breaks and make some plays to win and it can be done but we could easily lose
LSU- We will play them close regardless of which team is better. We should probably beat them but you never know. they are LSU, they have athletes and they will be good.
Ark- Should beat them since they are changing offensive systems but BB is a decent/good coach (i dont like him though, he seems like a douche). It will be a hard fought game
Mizzou- Year 2 in the SEC could be easier on Mizzou, i wouldnt say a 'sure' win but we should beat them in Oxford
State- Rivalry game in Starkville. Who knows? Should we win? Sure. Will we? No idea...
I personally think we win 7 games. Vanderbilt, Missouri St, Texas, Idaho, Arkansas, Troy, and Mizzou. and then a bowl game win, of course

It would depend on how we lost the six games in question and to whom we lost them. I'll say I'd be disappointed but not pissed at 6, so long as they weren't the "shite the bed" type losses we've grown accustomed to.
That said, I think we'll win 7+ if we beat Vandy. If we lose, I'm not saying the wheels will come off, but it will truly be a test for this young team with the schedule set up the way it is. They've shown a lot of toughness thus far and compete week to week. I just hope we keep that mantra going.

I agree with your whole post. Beat vandy and I'll probably be disappointed with 7. Lose to vandy and I'll probably be happy with 6.
I don't remember us ever having this big of a swing game

It seems like everyone thinks we are going to beat tejas....(for the record I'd love that to happen and hope it does) but I just don't see it happening. Texas is usually very strong out of the gate. I don't think it will be the beat down we suffered, however I still think their running game goes off again. Their freaking starting running back is bigger than some of our d-linemen. For some reason I think we are going to beat down vandy, and of course take care of SEMO. Bama will more than likely beat us, the the next week we're at auburn while A&M has the week off. That part of the schedule will be brutal. Hopefully we can be 3-2 the first five but I wouldn't be surprised if we were 2-3.

With how difficult the schedule is and how new the team is, I only be slightly disappointed with 6-6. BTW saying "could see us losing to Vandy, but not...LSU" is delusional.

All of this is some red and blue, koolaid sucking bullshite that leads to "hot seat" talk in year 3 of a new coaches tenure, broseph.
We over the frick achieved in year one. I'm happy about it, so are you, so is Freeze and the staff. Awesome. Eggbowl win, bowl game, stomped a shite hole in Pitt, and signed a MONSTER class on NSD.
Now, let's come back the frick down to earth and get some perspective. We had an "IN" with several of our top signees. We beat a BADLY down Aub and Arky team. We smoked MSU because Mullen was over confident in his defenses ability to stop the read-option and we smoked a pissed off Pitt team who didn't want to get off the bus at the bowl game.
Bottomline, it is horseshite to expect anything more than 7 wins in 2013. We are still too young and WAY to shallow at a shite TON of positions and there no way around that. The rest of the league woke the frick up after last year and we ain't catching ANYONE asleep this year.
Here's a promise, I'm getting all up on this bitch on 11/28 and I'm gonna slash and burn all you motherfrickers who have the audacity to be pissed off about winning 6 or 7 this season.
This staff needs 4 fricking years to get their shite together. GIVE THEM THAT frickING TIME without getting your panties in a wad because we didn't win 8 or 9 in season gotdamn #2, aight?
How do you reckin we over achieved? I understand if we only won those games and got drilled by everyone else...but, the fact is, we were better than LSU and AM. We beat Texas if the game is 3 weeks later and we were Alabama's toughest opponent outside of AM, who we beat if we had depth. I don't buy the over achieved pitch. We just didn't know what this team was capable of. Now we do. There is a reason Vegas has us at 8.5. If you are such a guru, go put your life savings on it. I'll be here on 11/28 to "slash your arse" and laugh at your arse

That's some stout fricking KoolAid you're drinking 5 AC... Our first 6 games are an absolute gauntlet... A coupe injuries, a few unlucky bounces and some untimely turnovers and we could be 2-4... That's just the truth... This team has to prove that even with limited depth they can put teams away.. Not the MSUs and Pitts of the the CFB world... I'm talking about the monsters of the SEC.. I still say we finish 8-5 after a bowl win in Nashville but damn that's gonna be tough.

Predicted to win 3 games preseason and winning 7 is overachieving.
Also can't forget that Auburn and Arkansas were pretty terrible which gift wrapped us two additional wins.

I feel like if we were truly better then we would win the games. Sure A&M was in our lap but you can't expect them to have 6 turnovers every time we play them.

It's a good thing you know this for an absolute fact.

lolwut? LSU, A&M and UGA all played Bama way closer and harder. I'll give you their 4th toughest opponent but nothing more.

yeah we know they are capable of winning 7 games. That's all we KNOW.

No Ole Miss fan should expect more than a 7 win regular season and a bowl game. Anything on top of that is pure gravey. This is the kind of thing that kills new coaches. UNREALISTIC expectations. Freeze has been saying it for months so idk why some in our fanbase has such a tough time with it.
We have sooo many depth issues its not even funny. If a couple guys go down our season could be bad.
Put down the kool-aid bro. You are gonna regret drinking all of it if things go south.

this is true but the juice on that leads me to believe Vegas thinks we're a 10 win team. heavy juice.

Kook-aid =/= juice.
juice = heavy money line.
If the money line on the O/U is heavy, Vegas is wanting everyone to bite on the other way. The way I read it is it's like Vegas set that O/U at 8.5 for us so everyone would hammer the under. If I were to only look at the Vegas O/U and money line, I'd put us at 10 wins.
but that's only by looking at that and ignoring opponents, depth, injuries, etc.

Where are you guys getting kool-aid? I still have yet to predict our record next season. For that matter, I see 8 regular season wins. I think we lose to Texas, Bama, AM, and we screw the pooch on Auburn.
