Id take men's soccer over lacrosse. Students would flock to it in the fall like they do baseball in the spring. Add women's gymnastics

As bad as it is, I would get a little mad if they pumped it back into academics.

I think athletics and academic fundings are completely separate. I could be wrong though.

people that dislike soccer always go out of their way to let you know it. More people go to women's soccer than women's bball. They fill up that stadium, so I can only imagine how much of a draw men's soccer would be, especially among students. Add alcohol to the mix and it has potential to be pretty fun.

Funnel half of it into football and half of it into baseball, making us a perennial playoff contender in the former and a two-time national champion in the latter.

Not liking soccer is perfectly fine. I played but i rarely watch it and don't have a favorite team. But damn if ole miss had a men's team I'd watch that every time they played.

But you make yourself sound like an idiot when you say abolish soccer. Just ask Ann coulter.

Tornado is the closest...

except...funnel 4/5 into football and the rest into baseball and basketball. A successful program can give more support to other sports.

a few years ago duke was about to give a solid chunk of change to the basmetball program but coach k refused it saying that a good football team would provide more funda annually than a one time gift

How about 65% into football and 35% into baseball?

Giving our baseball team an extra $10.5 million per season (assuming the funds are $30 million) could propel us towards multiple Omaha berths and a NC.

You do realize that all the other SEC teams are getting a bump in funds too right?

I sure hope we don't waste that much on the one sport that doesn't need it.
