You are the first person I've seen that thinks Donte is "most likely gone". Care to share why?
To be completely honest I just keep telling myself he is gone so if he is gone it doesn't hurt as bad.
And I go off the fact that he is a top 5 WR on most boards I see. That and knowin he has a kid. And even though he has had a "down year" the NFL always cares more about measureables and potential.
I honestly thought by saying he was "most likely gone" was gonna get me questioned just for saying he may be coming back.
Hopefully Freeze can sell to him come back and be a legend at OM and let's get to Atl.

Donte is a 3rd round pick based off his strength and burst off the line alone...

maybe because our offense is designed around short/intermediate routes
I think it's a combination of this and the fact that Bro really doesn't have the arm strength to make a lot of throws deep down field.

At least not accurately consistently

Well yeah that's kinda what I meant.
Look back at last year and see a lot of the interceptions that Bro was throwing ... they were down the field shots.
This year we have very much limited those plays because Bro can't really throw them and what has happened ...
How many INTs does Dr. Bro have this year?
Many of Bro's big play are thrown no more than 15-20 yards down field and hitting the WR in stride and letting him do the work.
Bro just ain't making a 40-60 yards passes for TDs because he can't really throw over 30-35 yards.

If Donte comes back.... Where would he be drafted in next year's draft? If he has a big season next year and Ole Miss is hyped and receives a lot of attention would Moncrief go 1st round? I think he will ask himself this question. Can I play my way into a first round draft pick?
Posted on 11/19/13 at 1:44 pm to hottydamntoddy
There's no telling. I can't think of many people off the top of my head that will be eligible next year.
Posted on 11/19/13 at 2:12 pm to UMRealist
Amari Cooper from Bama is eligible next year but he has been banged up this year and he is not having the same kind of year as last year.If DGB from Missouri finishes the season strong he will be up there. If the 1st round guys like Lee and Evans go and Moncrief comes back he would start the year as one of the top WR's.If Treadwell could come out this year he would be no worse than a 3rd round pick.

He hasn't helped himself this year. I agree that his measurable a are what they need to be in order to be taken in the top 2 or 3 rounds.

Because Logan and Moncrief are good downfield too. Treadwell is a monster at breaking tackles near the LOS against corners, and Hugh loves getting five and six yards a pop. Treadwell's just the best at that, so they get the ball to him as much as they can there.
