Most the time it's not as bad ... but flopping is flopping in my book and I want that shite cut out of both sports period.
I understand though it's not as much but it does happen more than most think because both sports have that human error element that can be exploited.

Yeah once you hit the majors, conditioning takes the back seat unless you're an outfielder, shortstop or catcher. In high school in college though, they run your dicks off.
I don't disagree I just don't think any of the other sports run as much. I remember the conditioning I did for baseball, basketball & football. None of them held a candle to what I did for soccer.

You're a soccer guy, cool. There are some exceptionally conditioned athletic people playing the sport no doubt. I didn't grow up playing nor did my peer group but I respect their athleticism. The fact that is is much bigger outside of the US doesn't make it more sophisticated however..that's where you got me. I lived in Scotland for a year and went to a lot of soccer matches so I speak from a little experience and I don't know of another fan base, outside of the US, more violent and drunk on a regular basis...and that includes LSU fans..maybe Zinfandel was their drink of choice, I don't know, but the only time I was worried about my safety at a sporting event was at a Scotland-England match in Glasgow.

My bad if that's how what I was saying was coming across ... no I'm wrong in that and I don't personally believe that either.
What I am saying that there training IMO would change the obesity issue in the states if we were a soccer nation because of how much running is envoled.
Second, that a lot people don't like it because they don't understand it, it's foreign, too slow, or the flopping. I can see how all of those apply but disagree to some extent on a lot of those and would easily be able to turn that around on some our traditional sports and be able to prove the same stuff in those sports.
I probably chose the wrong word and rustle a little feathers with that and I shouldn't have. I all I had meant was I appreciated that Sorant got out of his comfort zone and was able to appreciate something else ... not that he was actually more cultured/sophisticated for being a soccer ... my bad if that's how I came across not what I meant.

I know the feeling I was fortunate enough to go to a Liverpool-Everton (Anfield) & Barcelona-Real Madrid (Camp Nou) matches and both times I actually felt a little afraid of being there but I think a lot of that in my case could be attested to be foreign to the situation and very far out of my comfort zone. I imagine your incident was a lot more on the edge of violent with Scotland & England being involved.
I hope this cleared a little bit of our discussion up.

I know this is a soccer thread and I'm not trying to hijack it.. But please McRebel... I'm asking nicely... Please change your avatar picture.. Conference play starts tomorrow and if I have to see that god damn picture every time you post it's gonna really upset me... I'm all for State's resurgence under Cohen and them being loaded with arms yada yada yada... You've been granted access to their board.. It's served its purpose... Now please change it.. Thanks
I'm not mad and my jimmies aren't rustled but a man can only take so much.

Diving is penalized in most leagues. The NBA picked up on this recently and started suspending players for flopping. While the players may exaggerate their injuries, to fake one altogether could cost them playing time down the road. Just sayin

About time too. Watching the Clippers flop all over the place was infuriating

Well that is one thing that the EPL and others leagues are attempting to do as well, by either issuing cards or by not calling a foul and allowing play to continue, but they haven't as successful as then NBA has been.

Manu Ginoboli was the worst... Biggest flopper in the league for a few years.

You guys should watch the Texas Derby. It'll be on ESPN2. Bunch of pussies.
