I agree with your entire post. The only thing I'll add is that the only reason the A&M and Vandy losses stand out and other me is bc we blew good 4th qtr leads. Whether its depth or not we cant say for absolute certain yet. I trust freeze tho

During our coaching search, I found this video and wanted to get him at any cost:

His season at Arky State in 2011 was also just as amazing. They sucked forever, and then Hugh was hired.

This is my quote from 2011 before he was hired:
...just a really solid hire
Only time will tell but I've thought all along that he was a really good hire for the same reasons I stated before he was hired.
quote:
I was disappointed when Leach wasn't hired but this is why I think Freeze would be successful:
1) He will work his butt off to be successful.
2) He will recruit his butt off and is familiar with the region.
3) He will be committed long term.
4) He's young and innovative.
5) He was successful at Arkansas State...which says a lot.

Do you think freeze was the perfect hire?
...just a really solid hire
quote:
Where would you rank Freeze on the list of Ole Miss coaches?
Last and final question... Do you think he will be able to hold on to this coaching staff or at least keep replacing them with proper candidates?

You've always been very supportive of Freeze. Looks like we're all starting to come around to your way of thinking.

We both like the idea of not having a scrimmage after "Meet The Rebels" ... We've got a conference road game coming up... That supersedes playing a half speed game for the fans..
Yeah the fans would rather be 1-0 than 0-1 and see that stupid scrimmage.

Exactly. Also it makes no sense running around with a thin team looking for another injury in a meaningless game. You got some veteran guys out there who know what it takes to win. One extra game situation is not going to change that.

Goosebumps ...
Funny note I heard many of those same speeches back in High School and Hugh was telling the truth he does love road games and I bet he still watches Tombstone on every one of them he makes.

It was amazing to see. And that video was great.

I heard a lot of good things about Coach Freeze when he was at stAte.
Here are some quotes I would hear from his players and others when he was coaching there:
"The players love him." "He means everything he says." "He's a great leader...and one who leads by example."
Last season, one player told me, "I like Coach Malzahn and he is a really good coach but I miss Coach Freeze." These kinds of comments will get your attention.
He knows how to win.

I wonder how Auburn fans would feel about hearing comments like this?

He's been fantastic so far but he's also still learning in all facets of being an SEC head coach. Specifically the Vandy and A&M games and the CJ and ED situations.
It's too early in his career to judge him historically but I believe we're in good hands.

It might hurt their feelings.
But since both coaches happen to be friends, I would tend to think that both would view the comment in a positive context, as a compliment.
