I have come to the conclusion that you need a full damn roster of 85 quality players to compete. Me and my brother had this discussion the other day. Of the 85 players on the roster you need about 10-12 5 stars about 35-40 4 stars and the rest quality depth guys from the 1-3 stars. I understand there are bust and diamonds but in general the recruiting sites do a pretty good job of classifying talent. We just aren't there yet. We have 1 and a half good classes. We need about 2 more. We have about 3 quality O lineman on this roster. (Tunsil, Morris, and Golson) We need 10 AT LEAST. Just like we have on the defensive line we don't need hard working guys, we need talented guys that work hard.

I'm not trying to flame state, I'm just going to use them as an example. I understand the whole "bring in diamonds and make them Balis made SEC players". To be honest that was all OM could hope for until we stumbled across a diamond coach who could recruit. I don't care how hard a team works in the weight room, Bama, Aub, LSU, UF, UGA, etc. work just as hard with a lot more talent.

Until we get depth and talent we aren't going to win 10 games. We can be middle of the pack in the conference and knock off 1 or 2 of the big guys (Aub and Tex) this year but that is just odds. We need about 2 more classes to compete because everyone has injuries (see UGA and UF), it's part of the game. You have to be prepared with quality depth to win championships.

we're never going to recruit that well. Fortunately, I don't think you have to be that good recruiting to win 10. Mizzou and SC did it w/out that kind of top 5 every year classes.
