Should have never come out of the damn game.

Shea should have never gone back in.

I agree with you, but our defense was horrendous, idk if it would've made a difference. Shea seems to not have it there mentally half the time.

Shea is a schizo and not half the player Chad was mentally.

He's not a smart football player.

I mentioned on here that Ta’amu looked great running last week and he did nothing to hurt his potential tonight. I’ll just leave it at that. As for Shea, certainly not his night and I’m sure nobody hates it more than him.

While Shea forced that first pick, he also had 4 drops that affected the game largely. Our WRs just didn't show up the way we are accustomed. He didn't play just awful. Another side not, Dawson Knox was a pleasant surprise tonight.

Back to the original topic, Ta-amu was much more calm and not as erratic that Shea. It was refreshing.

No need to have too much a knee jerk reaction. Shea is a good QB who had an off night. I mean he's still the leading passer in the SEC in yardage. Also, LSU is a good team who outphysicaled us and caused Shea to make bad decisions.

That being said, I have always been a fan of Ta'amu and tonight definitely helped any chance he has of taking the starting job from Shea.

Ta'amu seemed to move the ball well and scored, Shea seemed to try and force everything and go for the deep pass into double coverage every drive instead of picking up the easy first down

Y'all, that's literally all Shea ever does. He forces the homerun 90% of the time. It's boom or bust with him.

Ta'amu took what the defense gave him and was a much more effective QB.

Ta'amu would really help us in the run game being that vertical threat (shea just runs around in circles). Jordan's arm is damn good too.

He doesn't have a quarter of the football sense that Chad did.

Y'all can vet my post history here. I'm not knee jerking to a bad game. I haven't been very impressed with Shea at all this whole season.

This thread lets me know we definitely have some idiots as OM fans. I do agree Shea should have remained on the sideline but the only reason is because of his health. If Lodge catches that perfect pass it's a TD. If AJ catches that slant the first drive continues. If DK secures the catch and doesn't get treated like a bih and have the ball taken out his hands Shea numbers are completely different.

The WRs were the letdown. They didn't show up.

I also didn't understand pulling Sweeney. He was running well and looked like the RB we expected him to be.

Defense doesn't surprise me. We suck at LB and the DL NEVER gets off blocks. I still think the coaches are trying to get the DL to fill two gaps to help the LBs who suck at filling them. It doesn't work at all. Our back 5 is terrible. (S and LBs) Jones is a CB.

Those plays to DK and Lodge are the bombs and homeruns that Shea always goes for, though. He presses and forces them too much.

Yeah, sometimes they'll pay off and people are blinded by the flashy numbers, but they won't always and you have to be willing to pull away from them when they're not working.

Our offense moved the ball with Ta'amu because he took the underneath stuff that Shea always overlooks because he wants the big play. If it's not there or not working you have to be willing to come off of it. He isn't.

There were several drives where we needed a couple yards for the 1st down and Shea had 5 or more yards open in front of him to run and he ran to the line of scrimmage and threw a bomb that went incomplete or was intercepted

Yep that was suck he could have got the first down just by running but he did not.

He didn't trust his knee at all. The announcers even mentioned it on a couple throws that sailed on him. He definitely wasn't fixing to scramble 8-10 yards on a knee that's not 100%. I thought he should have come out somewhere around the start of the 4th when he got sacked and it was a 2 score game. You don't risk further injury and we get Jordan more reps invade Shea does have to miss extended time.

He was obviously thinking of his knee the entire second half.

I say again, he should have never gone back in the fricking game.
