This really hurt. This tourney was supposed to be a chance to build out RPI and all it did was shite on it.

Im not sure that Bjork would even accept an NIT bid.

He better send Kennedy packing

We need SDSU or Zona to lose so we can play them. We're pretty fricked though. We had no margin for error with our OOC schedule.

Basketball, yet again, is a huge let down. It's time for AK to go.

I'm not one to want a coach fired every time the team loses. If Sumners doesn't travel, and actually plays the ball, Ole Miss wins. Coaches can't control everything. Up to the players as well. And you could see AK wasn't happy with that travel. He was disgusted just like the rest of us.

with a good coach one mistake doesn't matter in that game

The fact we had a chance to win shows how talented we are. We stayed in the zone way too long and Millinhouse played way to many minutes. We didn't have any plan offensively and only scored in the second half because we had the athletic ability to get on the offensive boards. This team is going to vastly underachieve and be a bubble team that gets left out again. We shouldn't expect anything different until the new arena opens. It's just a shitty situation that should get better in the long run.

there are good coaches out there. not saying it will be easy to find one. but we know what we are going to get as long as AK is here. I'd rather gamble on finding a good one and take the chance that we are right back where we are now.

and if we aren't going to be any good then I would rather watch us lose playing good basketball with not as good players than lose playing bad basketball with players that should win

That gamble isn't worth it right now.

hate to bash a fellow OM fan's post but.....this is really a dumb thing to say.

I can go into great detail why but it can be easily summed up with the fact you're automatically assuming that, at worst, we'll be the same. Trust me....it could go WAY down.

Yes, we know where we'll be with AK. A persistant bubble-team. It sucks....I know and agree. But this isn't baseball or football. Coaches don't dream of playing in the SEC unless it's Kentucky or now Mizzou.

We are the Big 10 Football of collegiete basketball. Two "tough" perrinial teams that typically slip up against a crappy opponent or just play an all out crappy schedule(OSU). Win as many conference games as you can and pray you don't lose too many OOC games to screw you.

Hopefully having mostly dog-shite teams in our division, we sweep MSU and Auburn....and hope to sweep either Arky, Bama, or LSU. We sweep three of those and split the other two...that's 8 wins. I purposely left out aTm because I have no idea what they have. Worst case scenario we get swept by them but I'll say a split is a safe bet so 9 wins. Split our East opponents and that's 12. We just need SEC teams to keep winning the few OOC games left. Especially Kentucky because we play them at home this year(IIRC) and AK owns Kentucky in Oxford. Then we pick up a win or two in the SEC Tourny hopefully to have us at 14 SEC wins.

If we beat San Francisco and Fordham(that one in Oxford), we sit at 24 wins with a TBA for the last game of this tourny.

24 wins is pretty decent but our RPI will be trash so we pretty much have to beat whoever the TBA is as well as Kentucky and hope kentucky plays like Kentucky should.

I know it is a lot to ask for AK to not slip up against any more teams that we should beat....but lets at least see where the cards fall before firing the guy. If he was getting us 2010-11 Nutt results, then I'd be the first on the fire him now wagon.....but let the season play out first.

I know we arent going to be at least as good as we are now if we hired a new coach. Just saying the risk of getting worse is worth it to me. Maybe it's just me but our style of basketball is not entertaining to me and just pisses me off. I said that as if I could choose between the two but obviously I know it's not that easy

I actually like our style of play minus Henderson just shooting like he's Kobe bryant. We are always one of the tougher defenses in the conference and one of the better rebounding teams minus the year we were Guard heavy and only really had Murph as a rebounder with Buck being a true freshman.

Better get used to this style of play. It's the same style most teams are having success with, including Kentucky last season.

All the fire AK talk needs to wait til the end of they year... If we miss the dance then yes, Bjork should sit down and give AK an ultimatum... NCAA Tourney in 2014 or he's out... Look no further than that traveling shite show in Starkville if you need a reason to not be hasty firing an SEC BBall coach in MS... I think this team can make an SEC tournament run as long as they stay healthy... If we lose Buckner, Holloway or Summers we are fricked

This is the fricking "make the Dance or else you're out"

AKs only offensive plan is let these jack asses let by Marshall Henderson(fricking douche) run around and jack up whatever god awful shot they want 5 seconds into the damn shot clock.

He has to go

There are plenty of coaches that would be more than eager to come to a bcs school to be the head coach of the basketball team.

Maybe it's my fault because I came into this year thinking that it would be different because there is too much talent to frick it up again... that was dumb on my part.

Have you ever been to Columbia Missouri? How come that shite hole of a town can produce great basketball teams year in and year out and, every year Ole Miss fans just make the excuse "It's damn near impossible to produce a good basketball team at Ole Miss because it's not in a city". Its just a god damn excuse.
