There is a lot of Mississippi hate for Texas in this thread.
I guess since I'm a Tennessean, which without us there wouldn't be a Texas, and lived a short time in Texas I just don't share the same sentiment as most of y'all
Whatever it's cool

Oh yeah and there's also that little thing that they kinda do 'Merica better than the rest of us as well. So that's a plus.

Didn't mean just you braj ... but it's no big deal really.
It's like ... I like white chocolate and you like dark but eventually we'll meet in the middle and find a little common milk chocolate ground.

Unfortunately I was born in Texas, and for some reason Texas people think this should be some kind of point of pride for me. It's annoying as shite.

As long as they don't have that typical "I'm a Texan" motif they're OK in my book

Most Austin folk don't have the "I'm Texan" thing going on in their personality. And honestly besides Austin/Houston/Dallas I don't think there is any where else in Texas I would live.
But I do love Austin, and think its the greatest place in the world.
I can't stand the Texas kids that come to Ole Miss and think they have to shove the fact that their from Texas down everyone's throat. It's annoying as shite and just doesn't matter.

Most of the ones I know aren't like that but they are proud of where they come from. That I can respect.

Actually, Texans typically like people from Tennessee. They came down to lend a hand when we were fighting for our independence. Same with the Louisiana folks.
We don't give a shite one way or the other about Mississippi. But mostly, we really don't like Arkansas.

Yeah I never got that feeling really from Ft. Worth.
I understand what you mean but still I never really felt that way about them. Also Austin is less flamboyant cowboy and more like a Cali, Oregon or Colorado hipster to me.
I'd guess he's probably thinking of that Houston/Gilley's Urban Cowboy bullshite. I wouldn't argue that point at all, as I'm in 100% agreement.

Honestly all of my roomates are from Texas and yes they were douchey about Texas at first. But that is just a front. Most don't know any better. I took all my friends to GA, and they loved it.

I tell you what, it's hard to believe we lost both Skydog and Lil' Stevie in vehicle accidents.
What I wouldn't give to see them play together. Allman's fluid and warm style on that 1957 Les Paul, and Vaughan's utter sonic boom on his rebuilt 62/63 Fender Strat. The man used .013's and it's rumored he used as heavy as .018's. I can't even imagine that. Would've been like playing with piano wire.
Yet, Vaughan could bend the heaviest gauge with ease. That's the one thing you can't help but notice about him -- he was a tiny, little man. But his hands were like a gorilla's. Massive, beefy and vascular. Sort of a freak of nature that way. Just built to play, I guess.
