With Briles getting canned, Ole Miss needs to drop their NOA response ASAP. Perfect storm, another bigger distraction and a long holiday weekend. It would be barely a blip on the 24 hour news cycle.

100% agree.

Bjork has to be thinking the same thing.

Not looking good for the NOA coming out today. Getting late.

You wait until late so it gets less attention overnight. Bjork is playing chess, not checkers, bro.

Why would they release it on a Thursday rather than Friday? Friday late is the best time.

I'm still lost on this whole sitation, hoping someone can clarify for me. Why does the timing of the release of the NOA response matter in this situation? Are y'all talking about this from a media standpoint regarding the backlash from possible sanctions? Also, when y'all release your response, does that mean we will hear whether or not y'all got anything? Damn the NCAA for beong so confusing all the time.

Purely from a media standpoint.

Briles being fired due to sexual shite is way worse than anything our NOA will have in it. Along with the fact that Monday is a holiday. Release it now and the only people in the country that will give a shite are OM and State fans.

I think some committee has to meet to decide the sanctions and it's supposed to take a couple months. This is just the allegations and our response.

That only happens if the NCAA doesn't accept our response. The response is our defending certain parts of the allegations and then offering a possible punishment. If that is accepted by the NCAA then it will be over quickly. If not, then what you said.

a long holiday weekend.

I've never understood why people think the media takes weekends and holidays off. There are no days off in the media cycle. If a story is big, it will be covered regardless of what day it is.

This!

Plus it will be the weekend and holiday crew covering it.

I wish they would release it today. That way there are two big stories and not just one. If they wait until tomorrow we might bump the Baylor story.

I heard that Bjork sent the NCAA the severed head of their lead investigator in a satin-lined, gilded box as our official response to the allegations.

If the B-team is covering it, then that's a good thing. That means there really isn't anything at all to worry about.

If the NCAA is dropping the hammer on us....they main reporters will be on their computers ASAP.

also.....typically, the better sports reporters work on the weekend because....get this....sports typically happens on the weekends and they get paid to cover sports so......

The media doesn't function like a typically business. There is no "5pm clock-out". Hell, I've had to help churn out a story at the bar at 1am a few times. It happens.
