Sox gave him the call. Hitting 317/.419/.688 with a career-high 19 homers and eight steals across 238 plate appearances over 52 games.

Dang! That's great to hear!

He was really struggling there for a while. I read an article that said basically he wasn't hitting for good enough average or power through the end of last season. And that this year might be his last opportunity to avoid getting cut.

Happy for him.

Hope Elko can recover from another ACL next year but it looks doubtful

He has definitely found some power this year with a caveat that Charlotte was the most hitter friendly park in the international league.

He’s had a good increase in velocity and has more homers through this season than through he entire pro career up to this year.

Also, it’s his birthday.
