He just demolished State at Old Waverly. Was 6 strokes ahead of his closest competitor going into the clubhouse, and he'll likely be the #1 ranked amateur in the world by week's end. Not too shabby

Yeah. Too bad the rest of the squad is so-so. He had the best score by far, but we finished 3rd of 4 for the tournament (ahead of State). I found out shortly after posting this though that the only amateur ahead of Thornberry is going pro, so he’ll be the de facto #1 regardless
