It’s not some systemic issue where we(or Kevin Smith) can’t keep running backs. It’s just bad luck for us.

Do we think he'd turn down an extra $150K to stay here vs playing for Kevin smith at lsu?

The beat guys are all intimating that Smith and Lacy are a package deal. LSU is being straight up reckless with money and Kiffin, being the petulant freak that he is, will force them to spend whatever it takes to get Lacy, we’re not gonna outbid them for him, or anyone else that Kiffin wants for that matter, but especially not Lacy.

We are going to lose players to LSU in the portal, possibly a lot of them. It sucks, everything about this situation sucks and makes us look like little brother, but it is what it is. We will get good players in the portal to replace them, and allegedly we have some big time NIL sponsorships in the works that will help us to be competitive in this new clearing house era (hopefully they get sued into oblivion, and this is the only season of that, because it seemingly is to our detriment ).

I think for perception we just need to do whatever it takes to win this one. Lose your coach and a potential heisman winner to your rival, that's just not good. Hate being reckless in overpaying players but given the fact we got lacy on a bargain this year, we should be willing to overspend to keep him

As WR coach? Thought it was going to be the guy from KY. Odd.

FWIW, On3 says the expectation is that he will be an analyst but assist with the WRs. Will help coach them, but will not be the official WR coach.

Maybe it’s Inside Wide Receivers? There’s been renewed hope from the cow humpers this morning that they’re landing Washington. Maybe the leak yesterday blew that up.

Yeah hate the hire if he's the actual WR coach. But assisting the WR coach and having him for recruiting within Mississippi would be really nice.

Finalized:

Spurlock is Analyst / Insider WR coach.

L’Damian Washington is the formal WR coach.
