We had this game the possession before. Newby had a wide open 3 and passed on it. If he hits it the game is over. Instead he drives and gets his shot blocked. You just HAVE to take that shot.

Well...that was a kick in the nuts.
Newby has to take that shot. He's not good offensively. The only thing he does is occasionally hit a 3 pointer. Driving to the basket was a terrible idea unless he was going to pass it out to Jarvis or Moody.

I'm pretty sure the play wasn't for him, it just got passed around to him because he was open. He was just too scared to take the shot and maybe was hoping to drive and get fouled.

We're still in good shape. I think our only loss left is at LSU, but we will probably lose a game like at State or Georgia at home.

Yeah we lost to a top 25 team. It's not like we lost to State or Alabama. If we beat who we're supposed to then we're in regardless of what happens in the SEC tournament.

I literally said ballgame in frustration when he put the ball on the ground. If I'm Kennedy I'm OK with him taking a wide open three that would be the dagger. I understand trying to get a "better" shot but he was wide open smh

It just feels like we lost the biggest game of the season for sure, and because of all things, freethrow shooting.
Also, Ole Miss has got to make their home court a tough place to play. They have lost way too many home games. It obviiously is not a tough environment at Tad Smith for the opposition. Let's hope the new buidling serves as way more of a homecourt advantage.

I don't feel that way at all. We played a good team yesterday and had a chance to win it at the end. A one point loss to Arkansas isn't going to hurt us in the eyes of the committee. I would love to finish 2nd in the SEC, and that is still possible. However a top 4 finish would still be solid imo.

I think our magic number this season to get in safely is 22. I think 21 has us really sweeting on selection Sunday, but 22 has us safely in is a 10/9/8 seed.
