Yes they are. I grew up around a lot of them in the Memphis area, and because of that I hate them more than any fans beside LSU and State.

I've hated Auburn since elementary school because of one terribly dorky kid. All he ever did was talk about Auburn and stutter when he did.
I always tried to be nice to him, but if you were a female and nice to him, he tried to hit on you. He got mad at me once because I was a girl and beat him in the shuttle run.
Even in college (he didn't go to Auburn), I tried to say hi to him in passing, and instead of just saying hi back, he turned around, followed me, and proceeded to ask me out.
Whenever I think of Auburn, I think of him.
