I understand Tunsil wasn't there for Memphis. I'm just going to reserve positivity on the run game and OL run blocking until we see it someone work against better defenses.

Me too. Last three games will be telling. All have solid run D's.

Is States D really that good? I'm mostly worried about their offense.

I honestly haven't watched a ton of them, but statistically at this moment, theirs is better than ours. AJ Jefferson has a non stop motor, Chris Jones and Nick James make a fantastic duo in the first half of games but get burned out because they have no one behind them. Richie Brown has really emerged as a legit SEC LB. Calhoun is a very good corner. Brandon Bryant is coming along as well. Their pass rush comes up the middle which is our weak point, but their secondary isn't good enough to stop our WR's and Chad will just roll out of the pocket if need be. We will score but I think the weakness of not having much DL depth will be countered with them playing their guts out as they always do at DWS in that game. I wasn't worried because I knew our D would be full strength by the time we played them but Dak is for real and it's his last home game. We will know more after they play Bama. The one defense they have faced made them look terrible until they played cushioned with a big lead, but that was at the beginning of the season and I think they have improved week by week. They are one dimisional as shite though and their OL hot garbage, but we have to bring our B+ game to have a chance.

I think their secondary is iffy and can easily give up big plays deep. But their front 7 is pretty nasty. They get a lot of pressure on the QB and blow up a lot of plays behind the line.

^ Actually a spot on analysis. I would say AJ is their best pass rusher so pressure if it comes, comes off the edge more often than not. However the center better be able to "set" the front of the pocket...so it better be Bell instead of Still.

On offense they have good WR's and the TE is becoming a good weapon for them. Dak is comfortable in the pocket and going through progressions now. They have no rushing attack without Dak so over the next couple weeks they will be forced to run him (he will be banged up by the time they get to the EggBowl). Their OL is horrid at run blocking (sound familiar?) but adequate at pass blocking.

Special teams: they have good returners but mediocre place kicker (max range is basically 40-45 yards but always a coin flip at that distance)

Statistically we have the better total D and they have the better scoring D. We have the better rush d and they the better pass D.

However, the best passing offense they have seen is TexAM and the Ags put up 30 in a win (the same team we held to 3). LSU was the best overall offense and They wouldn't let Harris throw. In addition they got Auburn off a QB switch. It's similar situation to why their Mizz blowout win wasn't a surprise. That Mizz D was suppose to be really good but, State at #43 was the best offense Mizz has or will see all season. That mizzou D stats were padded with offensive shite holes, Uconn, UGA, Vandy, Kentucky, And Scar.

We, however, have faced a suddenly skilled Florida with a juiced QB, a top 10 offense in Memphis, Bama at home, and Aub after getting a new QB settled in.

State finishes the season with the 3 best offenses (us included) that they will see all season. I would withhold judgement til after those games on who is the best D.

I'm hesitant to read too much into this considering we played a wounded Kyle Allen.

If only there was another thread on our board dedicated to the football season, then we wouldn't have to talk about this stuff in the recruiting thread. If only.

Lol, because he said Kyle Allen was off against us? That's an understatement. That dude missed 15+ completions in a row against us.

We would have lost that game if Kyler is starting or was able to play.

Kyler looked horrible against auburn. Every QB looks great against USC. The negareb is very strong in you

Simmons seemed to like his visit to Tennessee.

Still don't think he leaves the state though.

I still think we get both Simmons and Little as of right now. It's still only the first of November though so that could change next week and probably will if we lose out.

More confident in Little than Simmons.

I'd say our chance is 60/40 with Simmons, with the 40 being State.
