2014 Recruiting Recruiting Needs

Positions of need to sign: CB, ILB, OLB, Ol, DL, QB

I would lodve to see us sign a big time CB. I know we have some very good ones coming back but need to sign to some to build depth as Freeze eventually wants to reshirt as many as he can.

We also need to sign some linebackers in this class. We will lose Mike Marry after this year and no one knows how good DT will be when he comes back. Plus outside of DN, MM, and KL I dont know how many LBs we have that our stafff is really in love with. Thanks Houston! But again we need to think about depth and we are already very thin here. Maybe we can move some guys around like CJ or Prewitt. However we do play mostly a base of 4-2-5 but that could change.

I know Freeze likes to follow Saban's philosophy of findind CBs over 6foot. And big inside LBs (ie MAecus Robsinson 6' 4)

I added DL and OL to the list because thats how you win in the SEC, in the trenches. We need to target top OL and DL every year. Cant ever have too many big uglies on a football team. We may need to sign a Juco OL or DL as well in case some of our last signees need a couple years to develope enough to contribute at a high level.

And lastly on my list QB. If Freeze thinks he can land a future star at QB in his offense I say go get him.


I dont know much about the 2014 class as far as available prospects and obviously we have an entire year until NSD. SO i come to my fellow Bear Ranters in search of answers as to what positions you think we need to sign. Also do you guys know of any prospects that are showing some early interest.
