Bird struggled too. Let's not kid ourselves.

If we are basing open field tackling abilities on who did better against Manziel than we don't have a good one.

now they are gonna move him to guard with one year left to play...either he really sucks or they plan to RS him otherwise he is completely wasting his last year.
While he may be a little disappointing because he was so highly rated as a defensive tackle, James Carmon was a similar deal for us when he moved to LT for his senior year. He may not have been just awesome, but he was serviceable. If you can get one decent year out of Hooks on the OL it would be better than nothing.

Mike Hilton is the best open field tackler on our team and it isnt even close.

Chuck told me that 3 days ago

We limited them to only 7 points in the second and third SOLELY because Bryant was spying Manziel.... I saw bird get shook a few times while spying. He also missed tackles that game.
I too agree that Hilton is the best open field tackler and that he is the most versatile player on our D.

NSIAP but Bo Scarbrough is transferring back to Tuscaloosa County High School from IMG. Bama staff was not happy about this move. This may lead to qualifying issues since the reason he went to IMG was to get his grades up. The sites have not reported why he transferred back. Homesick? Didn't make the grades? All speculation at this point.

I appreciate the Bama angle

Who is Genard Avery. Are we offering him?

Unrated. Zero Stars. Sounds like a diamond in the rough that only Mullenz and Co could turn into a playa. We chase stars.

He seems to have good size and must have pretty good instincts to have those kind of stats, but he is very slow. No way he will be good as a ILB in college. What I hear is we are looking at him as a DE though, so that doesn't really matter. Most likely a greyshirt guy.
