Didn't you also hear a certain LSU signee wouldn't have to go the JuCo route?

Liggins is now officially enrolled in MGCCC and taking classes, so he was correct about that one.

A greater than 50% chance your ONE prize signee doesn't get into school, yet your primary concern is trying to troll State's upcoming signing class. Priceless.

At least that 50% gives you an easy cop out.

So what's the word on Channing Ward? I'm hearing he may not qualify and may end up at Hargrave for a year

He's got a few more hoops to jump through as a result of Aberdeen HS losing their accreditation. He'll be fine.

Can you demonstrate this? If it's "greater than 50%" then surely that's something that can be elaborated upon mathematically.

We're waiting.

So he made a qualifying ACT score?

I have no idea, but I assume yes.

A good friend of mine from Aberdeen says it's his HS transcript that may be the issue because of the school going belly-up.

I brought relevant info to this thread to answer a legit question. There was zero troll in this statement.

quote:

Eligibility Concerns Took ACT on June 9. Generally takes 2.5 weeks to get the scores back, so he should know one way or the other by now(that was his last chance to take it until Sept). Has to be more to the story...

I simply responded to your trolls.

No clue... Not sure how many times he's taken it either. I just know that he hadn't made the 18 as of the June testing(his last chance to get into OM on time), and the score has been delayed in coming back by a few weeks already.

Of course, there are ways around this based on learning disabilities, etc... No doubt David Saunders would've had him in in June had Nutt/Boone not run him off.

Not required to make an 18 to get into any Mississippi school. If you make lower, but your grades in high school are ok, then you could get in with a 16 or 17. But you will be on academic probation.

I thought a hard 18 was an NCAA requirement unrelated to the school admission policies? Could be wrong on that, but I'm pretty sure that an 18 is required to play an NCAA sport...

The only reason I know anything about this is because I was close to a former OM baseball player that failed to score 18 on the ACT for 4 tries leading into his last(June) testing(3.0 student, terrible standardized test taker). He was sweating it bad at the time(2002) before he made a 19 and cleared...

Oh, I had no idea about that if it's true. I thought as long as you could get into the university, that you were fine.

Did some digging... Looks like the NCAA uses a sliding scale, meaning the better the grades are, the worse the test scores can be and viceversa. Didn't know this...

Good reference here. LINK

So, in order to know a test score requirement, we would have to know a GPA. Since we don't, I was wrong to put a number on it before. Could be required to make anywhere from a 13 to a 22...
